Geometric optimal control of elliptic Keplerian orbits
2005
This article deals with the transfer of a satellite between Keplerian orbits. We study the controllability properties of the system and make a preliminary analysis of the time optimal control using the maximum principle. Second order sufficient conditions are also given. Finally, the time optimal trajectory to transfer the system from an initial low orbit with large eccentricity to a terminal geostationary orbit is obtained numerically.
Presentations of constrained systems with unconstrained positions
2005
International audience; We give a polynomial-time construction of the set of sequences that satisfy a finite-memory constraint defined by a finite list of forbidden blocks, with a specified set of bit positions unconstrained. Such a construction can be used to build modulation/error-correction codes (ECC codes) like the ones defined by the Immink-Wijngaarden scheme in which certain bit positions are reserved for ECC parity. We give a lineartime construction of a finite-state presentation of a constrained system defined by a periodic list of forbidden blocks. These systems, called periodic-finite-type systems, were introduced by Moision and Siegel. Finally, we present a linear-time algorithm for con…
Measurement of the Depth of Maximum of Extensive Air Showers above 10(18) eV
2010
We describe the measurement of the depth of maximum, Xmax, of the longitudinal development of air showers induced by cosmic rays. Almost four thousand events above 10¹⁸ eV observed by the fluorescence detector of the Pierre Auger Observatory in coincidence with at least one surface detector station are selected for the analysis. The average shower maximum was found to evolve with energy at a rate of (106⁺³⁵₋₂₁) g/cm²/decade below 1018.24 ± 0.05 eV and (24 ± 3) g/cm²/decade above this energy. The measured shower-to-shower fluctuations decrease from about 55 to 26 g/cm². The interpretation of these results in terms of the cosmic ray mass composition is briefly discussed.
Weed flora evolution in direct seeding under cover systems
2018
Direct seeding under cover, by its emergent properties, raises new questions of research on weed communities. The absence of soil disturbance and the implementation of cover crops, modify all factors of conventional agriculture and lead to a complete change of habitat for and management of the weed flora. In addition, these systems allow the development of a certain number of animal communities that interact with one another and with plant communities and thus potentially promote the regulations expected in Agroecology. Finally, there is the issue of annual weed species diversity in systems where tillage is strongly reduced. This thesis, started in November 2017, has as main objective to pr…
Weed flora evolution in direct seeding under cover systems
2019
Since the beginning of agriculture, farmers have been working the soil to produce. With the apparition of mechanization (development of plow coupled to tractors in the early 20th century), this practice has intensified and widespread on all farms. However, in France, since the 2000s, more and more farmers are questioning the utility of working the soil to produce. A new form of agriculture has appeared; the direct seeding under cover which groups together a set of cropping systems that meet certain requirements: no tillage, maximum vegetation cover and diversified rotation. By its emergent properties, this new form of agriculture raises new questions of research that mobilize both agronomy …
2010
The PhD presents a combined approach to improving individual car efficiency. An optimal observer, the Extended Kalman Filter, is used to create an efficiency model for the car. Particular attention was paid to handling the asynchronous and redundant nature of the measurement data. A low-cost sensor suite developed to measure data is described. This sensor suite was installed on multiple vehicles to good success. It employsan accelerometer, gps, fuel injector timer, and Vss input to measure all the data necessary to reconstruct the car's state. This observer and sensor suite can be used as the base for any study which requires car efficiency maps, allowing research to proceed without manufac…
Goodness-of-fit tests for parametric excess hazard rate models with covariates
2017
In this paper we propose a general methodology for testing the null hypothesis that an excess hazard rate model, with or without covariates, belongs to a parametric family. Estimating the excess hazard rate function parametrically through the maximum likelihood method and non-parametrically (or semi-parametrically) we build a discrepancy process which is shown to be asymptotically Gaussian under the null hypothesis. Based on this result we are able to build some statistical tests in order to decide wether or not the null hypothesis is acceptable. We illustrate our results by the construction of chi-square tests which the behavior is studied through a Monte-Carlo study. Then the testing proc…
Maksimālo un minimālo gaisa temperatūru diennakts svārstību amplitūdas un to ilglaicīgās izmaiņas Latvijā 1951. - 2016. gads
2019
