One-Pot Three-Component Solvent-Free Syntheses of n-Alkyl-Bridged N,N,N,N-tetra(2-hydroxybenzyl)diamines and N,N-bis(2-hydroxybenzyl) amines

2010

A simple solvent-free method to prepare four N,N,N’,N’-tetra(2-hydroxy-3,5dimethylbenzyl)diaminoalkanes and four N,N,N’,N’-tetra(2-hydroxy-5-t-butyl-3-methylbenzyl)-diaminoalkanes containing a long n-alkyl-bridge (58 CH2 groups between N-atoms) is described. In addition, preparations of four dihydrochlorides of prepared n-alkyl-bridged N,N,N’,N’-tetra(2-hydroxybenzyl)diamines are described. This method was also tested in the preparation of eight previously reported N,N-bis(2-hydroxybenzyl)amine derivatives.

Polyacanthoside A, a new oleanane-type triterpenoid saponin with cytotoxic effects from the leaves of Acacia polyacantha (Fabaceae)

2018

The chemical investigation of the leaves and stem bark of Acacia polyacantha (Fabaceae) led to the isolation of a new oleanane-type triterpenoid saponin named polyacanthoside A 1 together with fifteen known compounds. Their structures were established from spectral , mainly HRESIMS, 1D NMR and 2D NMR and by comparison with literature data. The cytotoxicity of compound 1 and the analogues 8 as well as doxorubicin was determined in a panel of 9 cancer cell lines including sensitive and drug resistant phenotypes. Unlike the analogue 8, compound 1 as well as doxorubicin displayed cytotoxic effects in all the 9 tested cancer cell lines with IC50 values ranged from 8.90 μM (towards CCRF-CEM leuke…

Alkyl and Aryl Substituted Corroles. 2. Synthesis and Characterization of Linked “Face-to-Face” Biscorroles. X-ray Structure of (BCA)Co2(py)3, Where …

2001

The synthesis, spectroscopic properties, and electrochemistry of (BCA)Co(2) and (BCB)Co(2) are described where BCA and BCB represent biscorroles linked by an anthracenyl (A) or a biphenylenyl (B) bridge. The pyridine and CO binding properties of (BCA)Co(2) and (BCB)Co(2) are also presented, and one of the compounds in its pyridine-ligated form, (BCA)Co(2)(py)(3), is structurally characterized. The data on the biscorroles are compared on one hand to the monocorrole having the same substitution pattern and on the other hand to bisporphyrins having two Co(II) ions and the same anthracenyl or biphenylenyl linkers in order to better understand the interaction which occurs between the two corrole…

Über tetraaryl-methan-analoga in der gruppe 14

1994

Abstract The title compounds have been synthesized by Grignard reactions or pyrolysis of diplumbanes respectively. The crystal structures of m -Tol 4 Pb and Ph 4 Pb (redetermination) have been determined. All eight compounds (Ph/Tol) 4 (Sn/Pb) are S 4 symmetric and contracted along this unique axis. The 13 C-NMR chemical shifts and the couplings 1 J ( 119 Sn/ 207 Pb 13 C) as well depend additively upon the methyl substituents. The ratios 1 K ( 207 Pb 13 C): 1 K ( 119 Sn 13 C) of the reduced coupling constants are all near to 1.61; a comparison with values from the literature for alkyl, alkenyl and alkinyl substituents is given. The ratio δ( 207 Pb):δ( 119 Sn) results in 2.28. IR (700 dow…

Alkyl and Aryl Substituted Corroles. 1. Synthesis and Characterization of Free Base and Cobalt Containing Derivatives. X-ray Structure of (Me4Ph5Cor)…

2001

The synthesis, spectroscopic properties, and electrochemistry of six different alkyl- and aryl-substituted Co(III) corroles are presented. The investigated compounds contain methyl, ethyl, phenyl, or substituted phenyl groups at the eight β-positions of the corrole macrocycle and four derivatives also contain a phenyl group at the 10-meso position of the macrocycle. Each cobalt corrole undergoes four reversible oxidations in CH2Cl2 containing 0.1 M tetra-n-butylammonium perchlorate and exists as a dimer in its singly and doubly oxidized forms. The difference in potential between the first two oxidations is associated with the degree of interaction between the two corrole units of the dimer …

1H,13C,17O and19F NMR spectroscopic study of isomeric ring-substituted monofluoro-(E)-3-phenylpropenals

1993

Isomeric ring substituted monofluoro-(E)-3-phenylpropenals (cinnamaldehydes) were synthesized in order to provide, with the NMR-active 19F nucleus, an insight into the influence of substituents and the transmission of electronic effects between the aromatic ring and the side-chain. Their 1H, 13C and 17O NMR chemical shifts and their nJ(H,H), nJ(H,F), nJ(C,H) and nJ(C,F) values were determined. Generally, the nJ(C,F) coupling constants correlate with the length of the coupling route and thus simplify the assignments of the 13C NMR spectra. Only the side-chain carbons C-2 and C-3 in the ortho-substituted compounds showed an exception to this rule. Many long-range nJ(H,F) (n = 4–7) values were…

Star-Shaped Compounds Having 1,3,5-Triazine Cores

2003

The 1,3,5-triazine derivatives 1−4 having styryl or higher oligo(phenylenevinylene) chains in the 2-, 4-, and 6-positions represent star-shaped push-pull compounds. Alkoxy or dimethylamino groups on the peripheral benzene rings, which act as electron donors, and the central 1,3,5-triazine ring, which acts as an electron acceptor, cause intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) to occur in the absorption S0⇄S1. Protonation of the 1,3,5-triazine core enhances the effect, as demonstrated by a bathochromic shift; a secondary protonation on the dimethylamino groups, however, leads to the breakdown of the ICT. Thus, the yellow compound 1d first becomes violet and then colorless upon the addition of tr…

Anionic Monosubstituted Cyclopentadienylsamarium Derivatives: Catalysts for a Stereospecific Isoprene Polymerization

1998

New alkyl and allyl complexes 1–3 {1: [Cp′2Sm(C3H5)]n, Cp′ = Me3CC5H4; 2: [Me4C2(C5H4)2]Sm(C3H5)2Li(dme),dme = (CH3OCH2CH2OCH3); 3: Cp′2SmMe2Li(dioxane)} were synthesized from (Cp′2SmCl)2and from the magnesium derivative [Me4C2(C5H4)2]SmCl · MgCl2(THF)4 (4). The ansa anionic complex 2 exhibited good activity for the stereospecific 1,4-trans polymerization of isoprene, whereas the neutral derivative 1 was inactive. In the same way, the anionic complex [Cp′2SmMe2]Li(dioxane) (3) was found to be an ethylene polymerization catalyst of very short lifetime. The lack of reactivity of 1 is related to the associated structure of this coordinatively unsaturated complex: this fact was established by t…
