Gas chromatography/mass spectrometry characterization of historical varnishes of ancient Italian lutes and violin
2007
The organic constituents of historical vanishes from two ancient Italian lutes and a Stradivari violin, kept in the Musée de la musique in Paris, have been characterized using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. Results have been compared with the chromatograms and mass spectra of recent as well as old naturally aged reference materials. The three historical varnishes analyzed have been shown to be oil varnishes, probably mixtures of linseed oil with resins. Identification of diterpenoids and triterpenoids compounds, and of the resins that may have been ingredients of the varnishes, are discussed in this paper.

Adverbial expressions within the legal domain: from medieval fueros to their consolidation in language
2010
Given the importance of legal language in the study of historical phraseological, it is here analyzed the presence, use and evolution of adverbial phrases in some outstanding medieval fueros, and also how a good number of adverbial expressions have transcended and developed from legal language to other contexts, owed to —at least in some cases— a clear colloquial origin (a sabiendas, por bien...). This characteristic joins many others, such as the creation of complex syntagmas derived from the union of simple expressions: de cabo a rabo, a diestro y a sinestro, a tuerto o a derecho, etc. It is therefore interesting to study the individual, particular history of each adverbial phrase found, …
The Christian Funerary Areas
2017
After the earthquake of 365 A.D., the gradual process of Christianisation that involved the territories of North Africa left many signs in the Regio Tripolitania. Sabratha became a diocesan centre during the 4th and 5th centuries, and the Paleochristian catacomb, excavated after the Peace of the Church in year 313, is the first attestation of the new faith, togerther with the open-air funerary areas distributed between the episcopal complex of the Regio III, the Oceanus Thermae, the Theatre in the Regio IV and the Temple of Hercules.

Sévices maritaux et divorce (XIII - XVIII siècle)
2022

Garsia Mastrillo e Giovanni Francesco Rao. Due facce di uno stesso ceto.
