Capture and processing of 3D microscopic images through multi-perspective technology
2020
Anti‐laminin auto antibodies in ANCA‐associated vasculitis
2000
Background. Endothelial cell damage occurs during vasculitic processes in vivo. With the alteration of the endothelium, exposure to basement membrane components may occur with induction of humoral immunity. Methods. In the present study, we evaluated the prevalence of antibodies against the basement membrane antigen laminin (LMN) in patients with ANCA-associated systemic vasculitis (AASV), pathologic controls (systemic lupus erythematosus, mixed cryoglobulinaemia, Henoch Schonlein purpura, primary glomerulonephritis) and normal individuals. Results. By ELISA, 21.6% of AASV (16/74) and 10% of pathologic controls (3/30), but only one of the normal controls (2.8%) had these antibodies (P = 0.0…
Nonlocal Second Order Vehicular Traffic Flow Models And Lagrange-Remap Finite Volumes
2011
In this paper a second order vehicular macroscopic model is derived from a microscopic car–following type model and it is analyzed. The source term includes nonlocal anticipation terms. A Finite Volume Lagrange–remap scheme is proposed.
Modelling of interference fits with taking into account surfaces roughness with homogenization technique
2013
International audience; The assembly technique by shrink fit is increasingly used today because it allows for the assembly of two pieces without any intermediary part simply by the tightening effect given by the difference in diameters of the two parts assembled. The definition of assemblies depends on calculation models available in the standard. They make very restrictive assumptions that limit the geometrical defects and the surface finish. It is increasingly common to use a finite element method to better adapt the model to the complex forms of industrial parts. However, the standard is limited with regard to the consideration of roughness which results in a loss of tightening. An easy …
Modèle global et paramétrable, pour la gestion des foules d'agents en animation comportementale
2011
The realism of crowd behavioral animation is based on one hand on a rendering of graphic scenes generated by the application, and on the other hand on the realism of the behavior. This is last point which is our object of study. The realism of crowds' behavior is essentially global (macroscopic realism). It must respect the required statistical characteristics of the crowd (density, dispersal, speed…) similar to those of a real crowd. The realism is also local (microscopic realism), i.e. agents should ideally behave like humans or human groups taken as reference, at least in the focus of the considered application. The aim of our research is to propose a generic model to perform crowd behav…
Antennal sensilla ofNeomysis integer (leach)
1978
The most frequent type of the hair sensilla on the antennae ofNeomysis integer is investigated by electron microscopic methods. The cellular properties of the sensilla are compared with those of other arthropods in order to detect possible homologies.
About the link between the detailed description of transitions in a ion and the average-ion models.
2009
We study the link which exists between microscopic (detailed) models for the evolution of the electronic configurations in a population of ions and the macroscopic (average ion) models. Rigorous asymptotics are presented in situations where they exist (large temperature; almost empty or almost full shells), and numerical simulations are presented.
Keyhole Limpet Hemocyanin: Molecular Structure of a Potent Marine Immunoactivator
2000
Objectives: In this short review we present a survey of the available biochemical and electron microscopic data on keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH). Results: The b

1977
A preparation method is described by means of which it is possible to transfer individual molecules of a high molecular weight polymer on a support, in order to determine their mass and therefrom their molecular weight distribution, using our previously published electron microscopic method. The advantages of the new procedure as compared to the previously described freeze-drying are 1 that the range of solvents, which can be used is much larger, and 2 that the preparation is performed by evaporation from a dilute solution, which means that the molecules are distributed statistically on the support. The risk of formation of associates is avoided by keeping the polymer concentration correspo…
Studies on the Fibrous Components of the Test ofCiona intestinalisLinnaeus. I. Cellulose-like Polysaccharide
1977
Chemical, histochemical and electron microscopic studies on the fibrous polysaccharide component of the test of Ciona intestinalis L. were made. The results showed cellulose-like fibres to be present in the cuticle layer and in the ground substance. Bundles of fibres varying in diameter from 80 to 600 nm interweave to form a conspicuous network. The bundle appears to be formed of flat fibres, 10–13 nm in width, while the fibre is composed of fibrils 3.5–5 nm; the rectangular cross section of fibres can be supposed. The probable role of this polysaccharide is discussed.
