Introduzione ad Arte : Artworks, mimesis, agency
2021

2020
This paper deals with the complex relationship between the observation of nature and the development of digital- design processes. This relationship reveals itself aporetic particularly if the concept of mimesis has been clarified. This contribution focuses on some projects that may be ascribed in digital organicism. Challenged by the observation of “The Elephant house” by Markus Schietsch Architekten in Zurich, the paper refers to some fundamental texts that show how an explicit and structured theory may help to avoid a new sublimation of the technique through miming natural forms.

Epävakaa mimeettinen halu Robert Walserin romaanissa Konttoristi
2019
Questions in Cognitive Mimetics
2021
Human thinking advances through questions and answers. Any field of human endeavor is permeated by the presence of questions, answers and presuppositions. Questions have a kind of universality, whereby one can place the question marks on anything, including questions themselves. The process of asking the right questions about the right things and in the right way are key for the explication of an approach. Recently, we have begun thinking about an approach to the design of intelligent technology: Cognitive mimetics. In brief, the idea is to take inspiration of empirical human thinking in specific contexts to develop AI solutions. The purpose of this article is to question this approach from…
2016
Almodóvar's Los abrazos rotos explores the possibilities of cinema to represent the holy contents of the myth. According to two modes of its expression (reflection and the unseen), we can see the implementation of a blunt myth. The myth is attenuated in its produced or spectacular content, with a focus on the symbol and on minesis. The myth reveals but it does not exhibit itself. It seems that the transcendent could be represented using the irony of those who proves the innuendo. The myth is given through the blindness which denies mimesis and shows its more peculiar contents in a blunted way.
Sylviasta, Sylvialle, Sylviana : retoriikka ja merkityksenmuodostus osoitteessa www.sylviaplathforum.com
2016
This study explores the writings of Sylvia Plath Forum, a discussion forum in the Internet that was launched in 1998. Using Norman Fairclough’s critical discourse analysis, Chaïm Perelman’s theory of argumentation, Kenneth Burke’s idea of identification as the basis of rhetoric, and René Girards’s theory of mimetic desire as its framework this study looks into the forum’s meaning-making processes and the ways the author Sylvia Plath (1932-1963) and her readers are represented on the forum. Attention is paid especially to meaning-making practices that are connected with literary studies, feminism, medicalization, and cultic phenomena. Furthermore, cultic discourse and fan discourse are under…
Innovative Applications and Experiments for the Protection of Archaeological Sites
2020
Nowadays, the protection in situ, the enhancement and the fruition of archaeological sites are issues that are even more relevant, if we take into account the effects caused, in recent decades, by climate change both on the conservation of the most fragile artefacts and on the well-being of visitors. New questions related to the ‘recover of identity’ are raised by the relationships that the protection interventions establish with the environmental context (external) and with the ancient ruins (internal), imposing an interpretation of the project as a union of landscape, morphological, climatic, technical, use and management aspects, or by requiring a holistic and integrated approach, from a…
