Strains of Trichoderma spp. are known for their antagonistic properties against plant pathogens, some are already on the market, others are under development. In order to launch a strain on the market its perfect identification at the species and strain levels is needed. Coal mining results in reduced soil quality and makes environments less stable. Soil fungi are suitable indicators of soil quality for monitoring purposes. Here, the objective was therefore to investigate the effects of grazing and mining on the composition of the soil fungal community at the periphery of an opencast coal-mine dump in the Shengli mining area, Xilingol League, Inner Mongolia. Nonequilibrium depletion interactions in active microrheology.

Entropic depletion forces arise between mesoscopic bodies that are immersed in a suspension of macromolecules, such as colloid-polymer mixtures. Here we consider the case of a driven colloidal probe in the presence of another, passive colloidal particle, both solvated in an ideal bath of small spherical particles. We calculate the nonequilibrium forces mediated by the depletants on the two colloidal particles within a dynamical superposition approximation (DSA) scheme. In order to assess the quality of this approximation, and to obtain the colloidal microstructure around the driven probe, we corroborate our theoretical results with Brownian dynamics simulations.

Effect of alkaline ph on sealing ability of white mineral trioxide aggregate

Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate microleakage of white mineral trioxide aggregate (WMTA) after its exposure to a range of alkaline environments during hydration. Study Design: Seventy single-rooted teeth were divided into 4 experimental and 2 control groups. All the teeth were instrumented, and their apices were resected. Root-end cavities were filled with WMTA in the experimental groups. In the control groups, root-end cavities were not filled. Root-end fillings were exposed to alkaline environments with pH values of 7.4, 8.4, 9.4, or 10.4 for 3 days. Microleakage was evaluated by bovine serum albumin. Mineral dust particles from arid regions of the earth are a substantial fraction of the atmospheric aerosol. Due to long range transport mineral dust is found in all types of airmasses and thus in remote regions too. Physical and chemical properties allow to distinguish mineral aerosols easily from other types of aerosols. Many characteristic features are similar to those of global average crust. Only major deviations from this mean composition are reflected by the mineral aerosol composition. In order to derive source characteristic features from mineral dust samples advanced statistical methods coupled with various analytical tools from the mineralogy and chemistrymust be applied.
