Modelling Mobile Encounter Networks

This article presents mobile encounter networks, which emerge when mobile devices come across each other and form a temporary connection between them using a common short-range radio technology. Local information exchanges between mobile devices results in a broadcast diffusion of information to other users of the network with a delay. Collaborative Augmented Reality (CAR) systems allow multiple users to share a real work environment including computer-generated images in real time. Currently, the hardware features of most mobile phones makes them a natural platform for CAR systems. However, the wide variety of these hardware features can have important effects on the performance of the mobile CAR applications. Mobile search prototype demonstrates the possibilities of social network search in N800 mobile devices. Search is initiated from a N800 mobile device to search the contacts in mobile device's addressbook. Streaming for vehicular users via elastic proxy buffer management

In this article we refer to the market of vehicular networks, where groups of customers located in the same public vehicle (e.g., a train or bus) connect to a terrestrial network through a wireless/satellite backbone link. Elastic buffering is a proxy management technique devised to decouple the multimedia information retrieval rate on the network backbone from the playout streaming rate at the user terminal. An efficient Chinese remainder theorem based node capture resilience scheme for Mobile WSNs

Node capture attack is a critical issue in Mobile WSNs where attacker-controlled replicas may act maliciously. In this paper, we present a novel Chinese remainder theorem based node capture resilience scheme that can be utilized to discover and revoke captured nodes. Moreover, our scheme can limit the ability of captured nodes to further compromise forward security, backward security, and launch collusion attacks. Detailed analysis shows that our scheme indeed achieves the expected design goals.

Information Exchange in Mobile Encounter Network

In this paper we analyze an information exchange method based on information diffusion in mobile encounter networks, a form of mobile peer-to-peer networks. We utilize dual mobility model which provides support for more realistic simulations compared to mobility models based only one method of movement. The distribution of the mobile device encounter intervals are discussed and analyzed via simulation runs. The logistic model is suggested to provide reasonably accurate estimates of the information diffusion process.
