Examining Consumers’ Usage Intention of Contactless Payment Systems

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to develop and test a conceptual model that combines the modified Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT2) with a consumer brand engagement (CBE) model to predict consumers’ usage intentions toward contactless payment systems in a developed country. Design/methodology/approach The authors cooperated with a contactless payment service provider in Finland and reached out to 22,000 customers, resulting in 1,165 usable responses. Deimatic displays, where sudden changes in prey appearance elicit aversive predator reactions, have been suggested to occur in many taxa. These (often only putative) displays frequently involve different components that may also serve antipredator functions via other mechanisms (e.g., mimicry, warning signalling, body inflation). The Colombian four-eyed frog, Pleurodema brachyops, has been suggested to gain protection against predation through putative deimatic displays where they inflate and elevate the posterior part of their body revealing eye-like colour markings. Atgriezeniskā saite franču valodas kā svešvalodas mācīšanā klātienē un neklātienē : pētījums par skolotāju pielietotajām praksēm Latvijā

Pētījuma mērķis ir izpētīt franču valodas kā svešvalodas skolotāju izmantotās atgriezeniskās saites prakses klātienes un tālmācības stundās. Šis pētījums sastāv no teorētiskās un empīriskās daļas. Teorētiskajā daļā ir izklāstīti trīs galvenie jēdzieni: vērtēšana, labošana un atgriezeniskā saite, kā arī tiek pētīti divi mācību modeļi – klātienes un attālinātais. Empīriskajā daļā ir sniegts korpusa un metodoloģijas apraksts, kā arī 10 daļēji strukturēto interviju korpusa analīze, kas transkribētas, lai veiktu satura analīzi. Vispārējie secinājumi parāda, ka klātienes stundās izmantotās prakses atšķiras no attālinātajās stundās izmantotajām praksēm formas un korektīvo stratēģiju ziņā.

Bakalaura darbā tiek analizēta Latvijā dzīvojošo jauniešu vērtību sistēmas atbilstība modernajam kapitālismam. Tika viektas piecpadsmit daļēji strukturētās intervijas, ievākti padziļināti dati par jauniešu vērtībām, analizētas jauniešu vērtību sistēmas un to atbilstība modernajam kapitālismam. Šajā darbā ir aprakstīta kapitālisma vēsturiskā analīze ar mērķi izprast kā mainījās cilvēku vērtības, pielāgojoties dzīvei kapitālistiskos apstākļos. Tika analizēta kapitālisma kritika, un tās raksturīgās individuālās un sabiedrības vērtības. Diplomdarbā “Anšlava Eglīša personības un daiļrades iepazīšana 12. klasē” tiek pētīta problēma, kā organizēt literatūras mācību stundas, lai palīdzētu skolēniem iepazīt Anšlava Eglīša personību un daiļradi, izprotot tajā paustās vērtības. Darba mērķis ir izveidot metodiskās sistēmas variantu, kas palīdzētu 12. klases skolēniem izprast Anšlava Eglīša personību un daiļradi, rosinātu skolēnus aktualizēt daiļradē paustās vērtības. Waste heat recovery from a marine waste incinerator using a thermoelectric generator

The application has been evaluated using mathematical modeling to optimize the heat exchanger and some vital design parameters of the TEG. The calculation shows that it is possible to extract 58 kW el at a price of 6.6 US$/W from an 850-kW th incinerator when optimizing for maximum power. Effect of temperature on anaerobic treatment of black water in UASB-septic tank systems

The effect of northern European seasonal temperature changes and low temperature on the performance of upflow anaerobic sludge blanket (UASB)-septic tanks treating black water was studied. Three UASB-septic tanks were monitored with different operational parameters and at different temperatures. The results indicated the feasibility of the UASB-septic tank for (pre)treatment of black water at low temperatures with respect to removal of suspended solids and dissolved organic material. Inoculum sludge had little effect on COD(ss) removal, though in the start-up phase some poorly adapted inoculum disintegrated and washed out, thus requiring consideration when designing the process.
