Correction of the deterministic part of space–charge interaction in momentum microscopy of charged particles

2015

Abstract Ultrahigh spectral brightness femtosecond XUV and X-ray sources like free electron lasers (FEL) and table-top high harmonics sources (HHG) offer fascinating experimental possibilities for analysis of transient states and ultrafast electron dynamics. For electron spectroscopy experiments using illumination from such sources, the ultrashort high-charge electron bunches experience strong space–charge interactions. The Coulomb interactions between emitted electrons results in large energy shifts and severe broadening of photoemission signals. We propose a method for a substantial reduction of the effect by exploiting the deterministic nature of space–charge interaction. The interaction…

Time-resolved buildup of twisted indirect exchange interaction in two-dimensional systems

2019

We study theoretically the time-domain dynamics of the spin-dependent Ruderman-Kittel-Kasuya-Yosida (RKKY) interaction between driven magnetic impurities localized in a spin-orbit-coupled two-dimensional system. Particular attention is given to the influence of the spin-orbit coupling (SOC) on the system's dynamical response to a time-dependent precessional motion of the localized magnetic moment. We show that, via the RKKY mechanism, a flip of the spin $z$ component of one localized moment affects all $x,\phantom{\rule{4pt}{0ex}}y$, and $z$ spin components of the other localized moment. The Friedel oscillations and the transient spin current triggered by the time-varying localized spin dep…

Comparison of conventional hamstring/quadriceps ratio between genders in level-matched soccer players

2017

Abstract Objectives: The main goal of our study is to compare the hamstring/quadriceps (H/Q) ratio at different knee angles between level-matched male and female soccer players and to determine whether differences in the H/Q ratio exist between the dominant and the non-dominant leg. Methods: A cross-sectional study design was used to compare an isometric H/Q ratio and functional isokinetic ratio (between hamstring in eccentric contraction and quadriceps in concentric contraction) between males (n = 14) and females (n = 14). These ratios were studied at two different speeds of movement (60° s−1 and 180° s−1) and in five different positions (40°, 50°, 60°, 70° and 80° degrees of knee flexion)…

Convergence of Boobnov-Galerkin Method Exemplified

2004

In this Note, Boobnov–Galerkin’s method is proved to converge to an exact solution for an applied mechanics problem. We address in detail the interrelation of Boobnov–Galerkin method and the exact solution in the beam deflection problems. Namely, we show the coincidence of these two methods for clamped–clamped boundary conditions, using an alternative set of functions proposed by Filonenko-Borodich.12 Received 25 February 2003; accepted for publication 13 March 2004. Poisson Geometry in Mathematics and Physics

2008

We realize quantized anti de Sitter space black holes, building Connes spectral triples, similar to those used for quantized spheres but based on Universal Deformation Quantization Formulas (UDF) obtained from an oscillatory integral kernel on an appropriate symplectic symmetric space. More precisely we first obtain a UDF for Lie subgroups acting on a symplectic symmetric space M in a locally simply transitive manner. Then, observing that a curvature contraction canonically relates anti de Sitter geometry to the geometry of symplectic symmetric spaces, we use that UDF to define what we call Dirac-isospectral noncommutative deformations of the spectral triples of locally anti de Sitter black…

Bartlett formalism generating functions and Z-transforms in fluctuation and noise theory

1983

Abstract “La theorie des fonctions generatrices s'adapte elle meme et avec la plus grande generalite aux questions des probabilite les plus difficiles.” (Laplace, 1812) “An important part of probability theory consists of the derivation of the probability distribution of the sum of n random variables, each of which obeys a given probability law, and the development of asymptotic forms of these distributions valid for increasing n. Probability generating functions owe their dominant position to the simplification they permit to both problems. Their employment to obtain the successive moments of a probability distribution and to solve the difference equations of probability theory is ancillar…

Capacidad Explicativa De Un Factor Pronnstico Econnmico Sobre El Crecimiento Econnmico Futuro: Efectos En La Valoraciin De Activos (News Related to F…

2013
