Chemical defences often vary within and between populations both in quantity and quality, which is puzzling if prey survival is dependent on the strength of the defence. We investigated the within- and between-population variability in chemical defence of the wood tiger moth (Arctia plantaginis). The major components of its defences, SBMP (2-sec-butyl-3-methoxypyrazine) and IBMP (2-isobutyl-3-methoxypyrazine), are volatiles that deter bird attacks. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest przedstawienie i omówienie wybranych technik, za pomocą których można z powodzeniem kształcić umiejętność słuchania na lekcjach L1. Autorka jako pierwsze omawia techniki, o których w latach 90. pisali lingwodydaktycy – Tadeusz Patrzałek i Maria Nagajowa, następnie prezentuje wybrane techniki glottodydaktyczne, które, po ich dostosowaniu do specyfiki słuchania w L1, można wykorzystać na lekcjach języka polskiego jako ojczystego. Autorka wychodzi z założenia, że integracja koncepcji lingwo- i glottodydaktycznych może przyczynić się do skutecznego i świadomego kształcenia umiejętności słuchania na lekcjach języka polskiego jako ojczystego.

Children with dyslexia tend to find reading stressful. Coping responses, such as task-focused and avoidant behaviours, can help mitigate the stress. Task-focused behaviour is associated with reading development, with others’ at-tributions of success and failure linked to task-focused behaviour. This article reports on research examining the intensity and forms of partnership between civil society organisations (particularly non-profit non-governmental organisations with a focus on students with a different mother tongue) and schools in three European geographical areas, answering three research questions: (1) What services do non-profits offer for teachers? This study examined the role of family-related (mother’s education, depressive symptoms and child’s gender) and kindergarten-related (teacher’s experience, teaching practices and class size) factors in mothers’ and teachers’ mutual trust in Estonia and Finland. Six hundred eighteen (206 Estonian and 412 Finnish) mothers of kindergarten children and their teachers (26 Estonian, 49 Finnish) were participated in the study. Nordic welfare policies mitigate work–childcare reconciliation; however, they are not enough for mothers working in intensive work cultures. In addition, there are differences among the three Nordic states in both work–family policies and cultural norms as to how they should be used. In this article, we study the resources mothers who work in research, development and innovation (R&D&I) in Finland, Norway and Sweden rely on in their work–childcare reconciliation. Mother tongue is one of the most important aspects of preserving identity o f national or ethnic minority. Being in force since 2005 the Law on National and Ethnic Minorities and Regional Language minorities in Poland secures the right to preserve and maintain their language and to introduce it as an assistant language in municipalities. In the Opole province this refers to the German language, which also in the whole country dominates in teaching minority languages.
