The vaccinaTion & Hpv Knowledge (THinK) questionnaire: a reliability and validity study on a sample of women living in Sicily (southern-Italy)

Objective The aim of this study was to introduce the VaccinaTion & Hpv Knowledge (THinK) questionnaire to assess knowledge about human papillomavirus (HPV) and attitude to HPV-vaccination. Its reliability and validity was demonstrated in a sample of women living in Sicily (southern Italy). Methods A cross-sectional survey was conducted on a sample of 220 women at the “Paolo Giaccone” University Hospital in Palermo (Sicily), aged 18–61. Data were analyzed through Cronbach’s alpha and exploratory factor analysis, followed by a structural equation model with measurement component. The Role of Desire in The Prediction of Intention

This paper is based on the notion that desire represents an important motivational aspect of the decision-making process. Thus, we examined the hypotheses that desire (1) predicts behavioral intentions and (2) mediates the effects of theory of planned behavior (TPB) components and past behavior on an individual’s intention to quit smoking. The analysis is based on three separate conditions in which the intention to quit smoking during the next 1, 4, or 6 months, respectively, was measured; the three conditions contained identical variables. Students' Physical Activity, Physical Education Enjoyment, and Motivational Determinants through a Three-Year School-Initiated Program

Patterns of physical activity in adulthood are often established during adolescence, making this an important period for promoting physical activity. To address this, the Sotkamo Physical Activity as Civil Skill Program 2010–2014 was implemented to increase Grade 5 to 9 students’ physical activity on a daily basis. The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of program on students’ physical activity and enjoyment. Furthermore, the relationship between motivational climate and enjoyment, and the percentages of students who engaged in 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity on the daily basis were examined.

Dampness and student-reported social climate: two multilevel mediation models.

Background Little previous research has analysed the relationship between schools' indoor air problems and schools' social climate. In this study, we analysed a) whether observed mould and dampness in a school building relates to students' perceptions of school climate (i.e. teacher-student relationships and class spirit) and b) whether reported subjective indoor air quality (IAQ) at the school level mediates this relationship. The notion that some individuals are more prone to emotion transmission than others has prompted the need for a person-oriented approach to emotion transmission in parent-child dyads. The present study applied a person-oriented analysis to examine the patterns of emotion transmission that can be identified in the diary data of father-child dyads, and the extent to which children with high levels of temperamental negative emotionality are particularly susceptible to emotion transmission within the family. Analysing SET over time using multilevel multidimensional explanatory IRT models

This contribution makes an attempt to analyze students' ratings of university teaching on a broad prospective, trying to adjust the final assessment from a wide range of factors which jointly may influence the process under evaluation: academic year peculiarities, course characteristics, students' characteristics and item dimensionality. From a methodological point of view, by setting complex Item Response models as special case of Generalized Linear or Mixed Models a large flexibility is introduced in the specification of ad hoc modelling approaches for the analysis of students' ratings.
