MAGA: A Supervised Method to Detect Motifs From Annotated Groups in Alignments

Multiple sequence alignments are usually phylogenetically driven. They are studied in the framework of evolution. But sometimes, it is interesting to study residue conservation at positions unconstrained by evolutionary rules. We present a supervised method to access a layer of information difficult to appreciate visually when many protein sequences are aligned. This new tool (MAGA; http://cbdm-01.zdv.uni-mainz.de/~munoz/maga/ ) locates positions in multiple sequence alignments differentially conserved in manually defined groups of sequences.

Background: Impaired sensation in the feet is a commonly reported symptom experienced by people with multiple sclerosis. Aim: To explore the lived experiences of people living with multiple sclerosis-related impaired sensation in their feet. Previous studies on obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD) showed impairments in executive domains, particularly in cognitive inhibition. In this perspective, the use of virtual reality showed huge potential in the assessment of executive functions; however, unfortunately, to date, no study on the assessment of these patients took advantage of the use of virtual environments. This article develops the concept of “immunitarian fiction” taking as paradigmatic examples epidemics and zombie narratives, which share the idea of contagion as the main matrix of their narrative. The article tries to address the following question: in what way do these fictions, and other similar ones, participate in the imaginary of immunity and, at the same time, show some of their internal contradictions? Alternative binders not derived from fossil fuels, known as biobinders, are opening new paths for multiple applications in road infrastructure. Biobinders, usually produced from bio-oils obtained from the processing of biomass and industry by-products, are tuneable materials whose properties can be adjusted to meet specific targets. Recientemente, algunos autores han definido distintas variables para caracterizar la atenuación lingüística en el marco de una base de datos multidimensional (Briz/Albelda; Albelda/otros). En este estudio se han seleccionado 982 elementos de atenuación de dieciocho entrevistas de español hablado; todos ellos han sido supervisados por hasta cuatro entrevistadores del proyecto Es.VaG.Atenuación. A search for the production of three massive vector bosons in proton–proton collisions is performed using data at TeV recorded with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider in the years 2015–2017, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 79.8 fb−1. Events with two same-sign leptons ℓ (electrons or muons) and at least two reconstructed jets are selected to search for . The global pandemic of COVID-19 has impacted the entire world in ways that were unimaginable months ago. It has changed how professionals work and interact with one another.
