Atrial fibrillation contributes to substantial increases in morbidity and mortality. We aimed to develop a risk score to predict individuals' absolute risk of developing the condition, and to provide a framework for researchers to assess new risk markers.We assessed 4764 participants in the Framingham Heart Study from 8044 examinations (55% women, 45-95 years of age) undertaken between June, 1968, and September, 1987. Thereafter, participants were monitored for the first event of atrial fibrillation for a maximum of 10 years. The dry stone wall of 'Paretone dei Greci': an anthracological approach

International audience; Dry stone constructions are a common occurrence in many Mediterranean landscapes. One of these structures known as "Paretone dei Greci" (Taranto, Southern Italy), was subject to an archaeological investigation. Soil and sediment material within this wall, as well as those above and below it, were sampled and processed for archaeobotanical studies. In this manner it was possible to understand its building technique as well as giving it a chronological context. Through an anthracological analysis it was possible to insert the "Paretone" within the surrounding agricultural landscape, thus better highlighting its function in relation to the history of the territory

Paracetamol (acetaminophen or N-acetyl-p-aminophenol) is considered a safe analgesic and antipyretic nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drug commonly used during pediatric ages and during pregnancy. We report on a term neonate with closed ductus arteriosus, severe cardiomyopathy, right ventricular dysfunction, and functional stenosis of pulmonary arteries at birth after maternal self-medication with paracetamol and consumption of polyphenol-rich foods in late pregnancy. A coronary right fistula canalized in a small accessory right atrial chamber.

The coronary artery fistulas are rare congenital anomalies with a very low incidence. These can be symptomatic or asymptomatic because the hemodynamic consequences of the fistula vary and depend on the shunt dimensions. Discordant opinions instead are present in the literature for the defect closing in asymptomatic patients. Here, we describe a patient affected by a coronary right fistula canalized in a small accessory right atrial chamber. During follow-up, we observed a progressive dilatation of the right coronary artery (maximum diameter 10.3 mm) with hemodynamic overload of the right sections.
