Il lavoro affronta due questioni poste dall'intervento economico del Fondo monetario internazionale e del MES nella crisi del debito greco: da un lato, quello della sostenibilità del debito stesso e dell'applicabilità dei principi di diritto internazionale in tema di stato di necessità; da un altro lato, quello del carattere particolarmente intrusivo delle condizioni poste alla Grecia e della sua valutazione alla luce del principio di non intervento negli affari interni.

Abstract The article proposes a theoretical discussion at the crossroads of the return migration scholarship with the entrepreneurship research. Age is an important factor in entrepreneurship. The paths into entrepreneurship at a later age may be varied. Self-employment in later life may be either a form of partial retirement or a career option. Older individuals may also be pushed into self-employment. The focus of this paper is on the career choices of older individuals and their background motivations in Finland. In this brief intervention it is submitted that the emergency measures against COVID-19, adopted by the Hungarian Government, infringe the rule of law under the European Convention of Human Rights. First of all, these measures appear to be discriminatory, according to art. 1 of the Convention, insofar as they expressly aim at protecting only Hungarian citizens. Furthermore, they are not “necessary” under article 15, given that they extend to the « legal security and the stability of the national economy ». This study explores how the problematic relations of rising living standards and environmental sustainability may be better understood by investigating domestic necessity and daily going-on. These key subjects are looked at from two angles and through two kinds of research material: statistics and quantitative survey material constituting of a nationally representative longitudinal dataset of Finnish people (n=2,417 in 1999, n=3,574 in 2004, n=1,202 in 2009), and in-depth interviews (n=14) of a particular socio-economic group, the well-to-do who have higher-than average income and higher education, and those in their prime working age (30–45 years-old).
