Blends of Semiflexible Polymers: Interplay of Nematic Order and Phase Separation

Mixtures of semiflexible polymers with a mismatch in either their persistence lengths or their contour lengths are studied by Density Functional Theory and Molecular Dynamics simulation. Considering lyotropic solutions under good solvent conditions, the mole fraction and pressure is systematically varied for several cases of bending stiffness κ (the normalized persistence length) and chain length N. For binary mixtures with different chain length (i.e., NA=16, NB=32 or 64) but the same stiffness, isotropic-nematic phase coexistence is studied. The soil nematode community plays an important role in ecosystem services. The objective of this study was to assess the effect of Super-high density (SHD) olive orchards on the nematode community in five sites with different soils, climates, and cultivars. At each site, the SHD management system was compared to the adjacent olive orchard traditional (TRAD) system, in which the same soil management and phytosanitary measures were applied. Pleurotus ostreatus is one of the most widespread mushrooms in the world. It is a valuable and widely cultivated edible mushroom with nematicidal properties. The mycelium of this mushroom produces a toxin that paralyzes nematodes, after which the nematode becomes infected with the filament, resulting in its death. This feature can be put to practical use as a natural nematicidal agent. In this paper, we have described studies on two wild strains of P. ostreatus (PO1, PO2) and the monokaryotic progeny obtained from their fruiting bodies. The use of predatory nematodes as biological control agents of phytoparasitic nematodes has been re-evaluated only recently. To be effective, predatory nematodes should be easy to grow, cheap, and available on a commercial scale. In addition, they must show a reproductive rate sufficient to sustain a high population density and a significant longevity and stability for storage. The predators are not phytopathogenic nematodes, and among the positive outcomes of their introduction are remarkable their environment compatibility and safety for other non-target organisms, as well as the ability to search for prey. Darba mērķis bija izstrādāt augstas intensitātes intervālslodzes (HIIT) protokolu, kas piemērots personām ar mazkustīgu dzīvesveidu, un salīdzinoši pārbaudīt tā efektu uz vielmaiņas intensitāti (MR) pēcslodzes periodā. Tika izmantoti divi slodžu protokoli: HIIT un mērenas, nemainīgas intensitātes slodze (MICT). HIIT protokols sastāvēja no divdesmit 30 sekunžu augstas intensitātes (85% no maksimālās jaudas (Pmax)) periodiem, kurus cikliski nomaina 60 sekunžu zemas intensitātes (50% no Pmax) periodi. Esistono già diverse piattaforme di metaverso, ossia di ambienti immersivi, partecipati, condivisi. Ma non esiste ancora l'interoperabilità tra di essi. Questo significa che siamo al momento in una situazione di "multiverso" che potrebbe aprire le porte alla realizzazione di un "metaverso" (accettando la definizione di Matthew Ball per cui esso si può definire tale solo nel caso di una piena interoperabilità).

Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittää eroja kävelyn liikeanalyysissä ennen ja 12 kuukautta leikkauksen jälkeen. Koehenkilöinä toimi kahdeksan naista, joille tehtiin polven tekonivelleikkaus Keski-Suomen keskussairaalassa. 12 kuukautta leikkauksen jälkeen koehenkilöiden kävelynopeus kasvoi tilastollisesti merkitsevästi, samoin ei-leikatun ja leikatun raajan askelparin pituus ja askelpituus kasvoivat. La colmena novela y La colmena filme son dos géneros narrativos cuyos procesos de textualización, si bien remiten a la misma historia, difieren entre sí. Por su parte, en la película, el relato cinematográfico opera narrativa y descriptivamente a partir de la secuenciación de imágenes en las que coexisten entre otros elementos: acción, espacios, movimiento y diálogos de personajes. El resultado es una concreción de la historia dada en forma multimodal. En la novela todo es verbal, discursivo: la textualización es una sucesión de formas lingüísticas con poder evocador. Many experimental evidences highlighted that Parkinson Disease (PD) patients are particularly impaired in performing a sequence of movements. In the present experiment we focused to study how PD patients plan and execute an action constituted by the sequence of reaching-grasping an object (first motor act) and placing it on a second target (second motor act). We wished to determine whether properties of the target of the second motor act influenced the kinematics of first motor act.
