Tuning of the photoinduced charge transfer process in donor-acceptor "double cable" copolymers
2003
The covalent linking of acceptor molecules to electron donating conjugated polymer is an approach for the development of new photoactive materials for the fabrication of organic photoelectric conversion devices. With this strategy we have designed a polyalkylthiophene copolymer series containing in the side chain anthraquinone molecules as electron acceptor. The peculiar features of the copolymers are the good processability and the ease in tailoring the content of acceptor moieties. Their potential use as photoactive materials is investigated in terms of the photoinduced charge transfer properties, studied by FTIR photoinduced absorption and Light Induced Electron Spin Resonance spectrosco…
Nonequilibrium effective temperature of superfluid vortex tangle
2006
An effective nonequilibrium temperature in counterflow superfluid turbulence is proposed, as a parameter characterizing a canonical probability distribution function of vortex orientation, and relating the diffusion coefficient of vortex lines to the vortex friction through an Einstein relation.
Esse.Re (nel) mondo. Arti visive e rinascita dal 1966 a oggi
2022
Effects of SCA40 on human isolated bronchus and human polymorphonuclear leukocytes: comparison with rolipram, SKF94120 and levcromakalim
1996
1. SCA40 (0.1 nM-0.1 mM) produced concentration-dependent suppression of the spontaneous tone of human isolated bronchus (-log EC50 = 6.85 +/- 0.09; n = 10) and reached a maximal relaxation similar to that of theophylline (3 mM). The potency (-log EC50 values) of SCA40 compared to other relaxants was rolipram (7.44 +/- 0.12; n = 9) > SCA40 > or = levcromakalim (6.49 +/- 0.04; n = 6) > SKF94120 (5.87 +/- 0.10; n = 9). 2. When tested against the activity of the isoenzymes of cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase (PDE) isolated from human bronchus, SCA40 proved highly potent against PDE III (-log IC50 = 6.47 +/- 0.16; n = 4). It was markedly less potent against PDE IV (4.82 +/- 0.18; n = 4) and …

Cyclopentadiene with two coordinating sites: 1,5-bis(diphenylphosphino) -2,3,4-trimethylcyclopenta-1,3-diene
1997
Abstract The possibility of obtaining the new bidentate 1,2-diphenylphosphinocyclopentadienyl ligand has been studied. 1,5-bis(diphenylphosphino)-2,3,4-trimethylcyclopenta-1,3-diene can be formed from butanone and chlorodiphenylphosphine in eight steps. The results of chemical and spectroscopic studies reveal that a 1.5-sigmatropic migration of the diphenylphosphino group takes place: the 1,2-diphenylphosphino-substituted species are converted into 1.3 species.
Cyclic and noncyclic photophosphorylation during the ontogenesis of high-light and low-light leaves of Sinapis alba.
1981
Noncyclic electron transport to ferricyanide and photophosphorylation as well as the methylviologen mediated aerobic and anaerobic photophosphorylation with dichlorophenolindophenol-ascorbate as the electron donor of photosystem I were measured during the development of high-light and low-light adapted leaves of Sinapis alba. Anaerobic methylviologen-catalyzed phosphorylation is more than twice as high as aerobic phosphorylation. The difference between the rates of aerobic and anaerobic phosphorylation is sensitive to dibromothymoquinone. Thus, under anaerobic conditions, methylviologen mediates a cyclic phosphorylation including plastoquinone. All photochemical activities of high-light chl…
Structure-Activity Relations of Flavonoids as Antimutagens Against Cooked Food Mutagens and Nitroarenes in the Salmonella Reversion Assay
1997
When about 60 flavonoids were tested for their antimutagenic potencies against 2-amino-3-methylimidazo [4,5-f]quinoline (IQ) and the nitroarenes 2-nitrofluorene (2-NF), 1-nitropyrene (1-NP), and 3-nitrofluoranthene (3-NFA) in the Salmonella reversion assay, distinct structure-activity relations were detected. With both groups of compounds, flavonoid glycosides were inactive or at best weakly active. Catechins and anthocyanidins, which lack the carbonyl function at C-4 of the flavane nucleus, were inactive. In contrast, chalcones exerted strong antimutagenicity against IQ and the nitroarenes. With respect to IQ, flavonoids of low polarity were the most active compounds: The parent compounds …

Pseudomonas litolaris sp. nov., isolated from mediterranean seawater
2012
Strains 2SM5T and 2SM6, two strictly aerobic chemo-organotrophic gammaproteobacteria, were isolated from Mediterranean seawater off the coast of Vinaroz, Castellón, Spain, in February, 1990. They were extensively characterized by a polyphasic study that placed them in the genus Pseudomonas. Phylogenetic analysis of 16S rRNA gene sequences showed that both strains shared 100 % sequence similarity and were closely related to members of the Pseudomonas pertucinogena clade, with less than 97.3 % similarity to strains of established species; Pseudomonas xiamenensis was the closest relative. Analysis of sequences of three housekeeping genes, rpoB, rpoD and gyrB, further confirmed the phylogenetic…
