Making Sociologically-Grounded Fictions. A Review of the Sociorama Collection Experience

As members of the scientific committee of a collection of sociological comic strips, we offer feedback here on our experience of translating qualitative sociological research into graphic fictions. Through the presentation of main editorial choices and the organization of the adaptation work, we explain and discuss the effects produced by this type of adaptation on sociological discourse. We present a “lesson learned” from this adaptation process that disrupted and challenged the inherent assumptions of academic sociological writing. This review of Sociorama albums highlights some advantages and successes, as well as some limitations and obstacles introduced by this comic-ization.

Angļu valodas stundas nebūtu iedomājamas bez lasīšanas, jo noteikta daļa no angļu valodas grāmatās atrodamajiem uzdevumiem ir saistīti ar tekstu, kurā atrodamas atbildes uz uzdotajiem jautājumiem. Svarīgi izprast, vai skolēniem interesē šajos tekstos atklātais. Ir zināms, ka mūsdienu jaunieši dažādu iemeslu dēļ maz lasa, vai dažreiz pat brīvajā laikā nepavada ne minūti lasot. Te var uzdot dažādus jautājumus, tomēr, vērtīgāk būtu tam meklēt risinājumus un skolēnus iedvesmot brīvajā laikā, atpūtas brīžos sēdēt ar grāmatu klēpī. A model for instructional design in mathematics implemented in teacher education

International audience; This paper presents a model for instructional design in mathematics and reports from student teachers' experimentation with it in secondary school. The model is framed within the theory of didactical situations in mathematics. It contributes to the research field through the notion of an epistemological model, which provides an enhanced understanding of the stage of ‘conception and a priori analysis' of didactical engineering. Findings show how the model is instrumental in creating student teachers' awareness of the impact of the milieu on the nature of the knowledge developed by the pupils.

Learning complex analysis in different branches – Project Spotlight-Y for future teachers

International audience; At the University of Bremen in teaching complex analysis, we split the last part of the lecture into two branches according to profession: While future mathematicians deepen their understanding in a branch for them, future teachers take a branch of the lecture where they prepare a task with dynamical geometry software for pupils which is based on phenomena of complex analysis. Here, we describe the design of the course, some general aims and first results obtained from the branch for future teachers.

Las huellas de los lectores: de vuelta a los libros de caballerías anotados

Este trabajo tiene el doble objetivo de enriquecer el censo de los libros de caballerías anotados y revitalizar el estudio de los marginalia en cuanto fuente primaria para diferentes acercamientos críticos al género. Del cuadro esbozado emergen resultados que refuerzan las conclusiones de la bibliografía que se ha ocupado del tema, añadiendo un marcado acento sobre el alcance internacional del género, cuyos lectores-anotadores eran, en una relevante medida, extranjeros.

The translation of slang is a thorny issue for any translator. First, we define the object of study, the classic slang and the language of the trenches, to clarify the choice that pushes the authors of comics and graphic novels to privilege this language.
