Zur protonenkatalysierten elektrophilen substitution von 2,3-dimethylindol mit arylaldehyden: C6-regioselektivität am indol-gerüst

The proton catalyzed reaction of 2,3-dimethylindole (1) with several arylaldehydes 2 yields the 6,6′bisindolylarylmethanes 5 regioselectively. No mechanistic information about the predominant attack of the aldehydes on the indole nucleus is obtained, because the reaction proceeds too fast to control. The electron-rich aldehydes, 2,4,6-trimethoxybenzaldehyde and indole-3-carbaldehyde, yield exclusively the 6,6′,6″-trisin-dolylmethane 9. The constitutions of all isolated methanes were elucidated by 400 MHz 1H-nmr spectroscopy.

The two-electron oxidation of the lithium salts of the heterodichalcogenidoimidodiphosphinate anions [(EP (i)Pr 2)(TeP (i)Pr 2)N] (-) ( 1a, E = S; 1b, E = Se) with iodine yields cyclic cations [(EP (i)Pr 2)(TeP (i)Pr 2)N] (+) as their iodide salts [(SP (i)Pr 2)(TeP (i)Pr 2)N]I ( 2a) and [(SeP (i)Pr 2)(TeP (i)Pr 2)N]I ( 2b). The five-membered rings in 2a and 2b both display an elongated E-Te bond as a consequence of an interaction between tellurium and the iodide anion. One-electron reduction of 2a and 2b with cobaltocene produces the neutral dimers (EP (i)Pr 2NP (i)Pr 2Te-) 2 ( 3a, E = S; 3b, E = Se), which are connected exclusively through a Te-Te bond. The feasibility of solid-state magic angle spinning (MAS) (31)P nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy and (23)Na NMR spectroscopy to investigate both phosphates and Na(+) ions distribution in semi-hard cheeses in a non-destructive way was studied. Two semi-hard cheeses of known composition were made with two different salt contents. (31)P Single-pulse excitation and cross-polarization MAS experiments allowed, for the first time, the identification and quantification of soluble and insoluble phosphates in the cheeses. Cyclocondensation reaction of 1,2-diamino-4-methylbenzene andp-substituted acetophenones

1,2-Diamino-4-methylbenzene 1 reacts in the presence of sulphuric acid with 4-substituted acetophenones 2a-e yielding 2,4-diaryl-2,3-dihydro-2,8-dimethyl-1H-1,5-benzodiazepines 3a-e and as minor component 2,4-diaryl-2,3-dihydro-2,7-dimethyl-1H-1,5-benzodiazepines 4a-e. The ratio 3:4 is in the range of 7:3. The structure determination of the regioisomers was performed by NOE measurements.

Multinuclear NMR study of 1,3,3-trimethylbicyclo[2.2.1]heptan-2-one (fenchone) and its six monochlorinated derivatives

1H, 13C and 17O NMR spectra of fenchone and six monochlorofenchones have been recorded. The second-order 1H NMR spectra were analysed by an iterative computer program. The 1H and 13C chlorine-induced substituent chemical shifts (SCS) were calculated. The vicinal coupling constants proved to be essential in the assignment of the chemical shifts of the geminal methyls. No clear correlation was observed between the chemical shifts of the carbonyl oxygen and the carbonyl carbon. All monochlorofenchones were previously unknown compounds and were synthesized for this work.

The Creolophins: A Family of Linear Triquinanes fromCreolophus cirrhatus (Basidiomycete)

Complicatic acid and five novel linear triquinanes were isolated from mycelial cultures of Creolophus cirrhatus. The creolophins A, C, D, and E represent a novel type of highly oxidized triquinane sesquiterpenoids. Whereas those compounds with a secondary alcohol moiety in ring A are stable, the exomethylene ketone creolophin E (5) partly dimerized during workup to form the decacyclic 1,4-dioxepin-6-one neocreolophin (6). The delta-lactone boronolide (+)-1, a pharmacologically active, naturally occurring product, has been synthesized in enantiopure form with L-erythrulose as the chiral starting material. The key steps of the synthesis were a highly stereoselective aldol-reduction one-pot sequence, an indium-mediated diastereoselective aldehyde allylation, and a ring-closing metathesis.

Titanium imido complexes stabilised by bis(iminophosphoranyl)methanide ligands: the influence of N-substituents on solution dynamics and reactivity

Terminal titanium imido complexes of the general formula [Ti(N(t)Bu)Cl{CH(Ph2PNR)2}] 4 (R = Ph, (i)Pr, (t)Bu) are reported. These compounds were synthesized from the corresponding Li adducts 3 of BIPMH (bis(iminophosphoranyl)methanide) and Mountford's complex [Ti(N(t)Bu)Cl2(Py)3]. The crystal structures of two of the Ti complexes (R = Ph, (t)Bu) and two of the Li compounds (R = (i)Pr, (t)Bu) are reported. Dynamic solution NMR spectroscopy reveals a dynamic isomerisation process in the case of the Ti complex 4c (R = (t)Bu). Conformationally rigidified tetraCMPO derivatives have been prepared from calix[4]arene bis(crown ether) 4 a in which adjacent oxygens are bridged at the narrow rim by two diethylene glycol links. Acylation of the tetraamine 4 c with the CMPO-active ester 5 b gave the tetraphosphine oxide 6 a, while the tetraphosphinate 6 b and the tetraphosphonate 6 c were obtained by Arbuzov reaction of tetrabromoacetamido derivative 7 with PhP(OEt)2 or P(OEt)3.
