Recoil-decay tagging spectroscopy of74162W88
2015
Excited states in the highly neutron-deficient nucleus W-162 have been investigated via the Mo-92(Kr-78, 2 alpha) W-162 reaction. Prompt gamma rays were detected by the JUROGAM II high-purity germa ...
Production of excited double hypernuclei via Fermi breakup of excited strange systems
2011
Precise spectroscopy of multi-strange hypernuclei provides a unique chance to explore the hyperon-hyperon interaction. In the present work we explore the production of excited states in double hypernuclei following the micro-canonical break-up of an initially excited double hypernucleus which is created by the absorption and conversion of a stopped $\Xi^{-}$ hyperon. Rather independent on the spectrum of possible excited states in the produced double hypernuclei the formation of excited states dominates in our model. For different initial target nuclei which absorb the $\Xi^-$, different double hypernuclei nuclei dominate. Thus the ability to assign the various observable $\gamma$-transitio…
Clusterization in the shape isomers of the 56Ni nucleus
2011
The interrelation of the quadrupole deformation and clusterization is investigated in the example of the ${}^{56}$Ni nucleus. The shape isomers, including superdeformed and hyperdeformed states, are obtained as stability regions of the quasidynamical U(3) symmetry based on a Nilsson calculation. Their possible binary clusterizations are investigated by considering both the consequences of the Pauli exclusion principle and the energetic preference.
β-decay of22O
2005
A mass-separated 12 C 22 O molecular ion beam from the ISOLDE facility was used to study the decay of neutron-rich 22 O. The experimental results were compared with the results from an earlier experiment and predictions by shellmodel calculations using various effective interactions. The mechanism leading to the vanishing decay strength to the first 1 + level of the 22 F nucleus, predicted with the USD effective interaction but not supported by the experimental data, is analysed.
η′-Nucleus optical potential and possible η′ bound states
2012
Abstract Starting from a recent model of the η ′ N interaction, we evaluate the η ′ -nucleus optical potential, including the contribution of lowest order in density, t ρ / 2 m η ′ , together with the second-order terms accounting for η ′ absorption by two nucleons. We also calculate the formation cross section of the η ′ bound states from ( π + , p ) reactions on nuclei. The η ′ -nucleus potential suffers from uncertainties tied to the poorly known η ′ N interaction, which can be partially constrained by the experimental modulus of the η ′ N scattering length and/or the recently measured transparency ratios in η ′ nuclear photoproduction. Assuming an attractive interaction and taking the c…
The reaction at Eγ = 60 and 80 MeV
1986
Abstract The tagged photon technique has been used to measure the 12C photoproton cross section over the angular range θp = 30°–135° for Eγ = 60 and 80 MeV. Comparison of the results with quasifree knockout and quasideuteron calculations shows that photon interaction with two-nucleon pairs is dominant at least for high excitation energies in the residual nucleus.
Structure of 68As studied via the 12C(58Ni,pn) reaction
1998
Excited states of As-68 nucleus were populated through the C-12(Ni-58,pn) reaction and investigated by in-beam gamma-spectroscopic methods. The NORDBALL detector array equipped with charged particle and neutron detectors was used to detect the evaporated particles and gamma-rays. The level scheme of As-68 was constructed on the basis of gamma gamma-coincidence relations up to 6 MeV excitation energy and J(pi) = (15(+)). The structure of the nucleus is discussed in the framework of the interacting boson-fermion-fermion model. The states below 2.3 MeV are described as members of proton-neutron-phonon multiplets. Levels of118Sn populated in the decay of118In and118Sb isomers
1970
Gamma-rays in the disintegration of 5.0 s (1+), 8.5 s (7−, 8−), and 4.4 min (4+, 5+)118In isomers and of 3.5 min (1+) and 5.1 h (8−)118Sb isomers have been investigated using Ge(Li) detectors and Ge(Li)-NaI(Tl) coincidence spectrometers. The decay schemes of these isomers have been constructed incorporating 17 levels in the product nucleus,118Sn, at the following energies (in keV): 0 (0+), 1229.5 (2+), 1757.5 (0+), 2043.1 (2+), 2056.4 (0+), 2280.3 (4+), 2321.3 (5−), 2326.4 (1+, 2+), 2402.7 (4+), 2488.8 (4+), 2496.5 (0+), 2575.2 (7−), 2677.3, 2733.7 (2+), 2929.8, 2963.5 (4+), and 3137.1 (0+). The structure of118Sn is briefly discussed in view of results from recent quasiparticle-model calcul…
Beta Decay Study of the Tz=−2 56Zn Nucleus and the Determination of the Half-Lives of a Few fp-shell Nuclei
2014
Abstract This paper concerns the experimental study of the β decay properties of few proton-rich fp -shell nuclei. The nuclei were produced at GANIL in fragmentation reactions, separated with the LISE spectrometer and stopped in an implantation detector surrounded by Ge detectors. The β -delayed gammas, β -delayed protons and the exotic β -delayed gamma-proton emission have been studied. Preliminary results are presented. The decay of the T z = − 2 nucleus 56 Zn has been studied in detail. Information from the β -delayed protons and β -delayed gammas has been used to deduce the decay scheme. The exotic beta-delayed gamma-proton decay has been observed for the first time in the fp -shell. Th…
