Beta decay of the exotic Tz = - 2, $^{56}$Zn nucleus and half-life of various proton-rich Tz = -1 nuclei

Expérience GANIL/LISE3/EXOGAM; International audience; Preliminary results of an experimental study of the beta -decay of the exotic T$_z$ = - 2, $^{56}$Zn nucleus and other proton-rich T$_z$ = -1 nuclei are presented. The ions were produced at GANIL using fragmentation reactions, separated by the LISE3 spectrometer and implanted in a double-sided silicon strip detector surrounded by Ge detectors. The half-lives of $^{56}$Zn and four T$_z$ = -1 nuclei in the fp-shell have been measured. While the decay of the T$_z$ = -1 nuclei proceeds essentially by -delayed gamma emission, in the case of $^{56}$Zn -delayed proton emission is also observed. Abstract Like few other parameters, the mass of an atom, and its inherent connection with the atomic and nuclear binding energy is a fundamental property, a unique fingerprint of the atomic nucleus. Each nuclide comes with its own mass value different from all others. For short-lived exotic atomic nuclei the importance of its mass ranges from the verification of nuclear models to a test of the Standard Model, in particular with regard to the weak interaction and the unitarity of the Cabibbo–Kobayashi–Maskawa quark mixing matrix. Status of J-PARC E07: Systematic study of double strangeness nuclei with hybrid emulsion method

J-PARC E07 is the most complex emulsion experiment to date investigating double hypernuclei with a hybrid emulsion method. This experiment aims to detect 104 Ξ− stop events, ten times more events than the past experiments. Thus, an unequivocal identification of several new double hypernuclei is expected. The beam exposure has been completed at the K1.8 beam line of the J-PARC hadron facility in June 2017. The photographic development of all emulsion sheets has also been completed in February 2018. The emulsion sheets are presently being analyzed with dedicated optical microscopes. Current statistics is comparable to that of E373 and so far 10 events of 3-vertices topology have been detected…
Status of the J-PARC E07, Systematic Study of Double Strangeness Nuclei with the Hybrid Emulsion Method

The current status of the J-PARC E07 experiment and two typical events, a _ΛΛBe hypernuclear event named “MINO” and \(_{\Xi }^{15}\text{C}\) hypernuclear event named “IBUKI”, are presented. J-PARC E07 is the most complex emulsion experiment so far to investigate double hypernuclei. The physics run at the K1.8 beam line in the J-PARC hadron facility and photographic development of all emulsion sheets have been completed. The emulsion sheets are presently being analyzed with dedicated optical microscopes. Current statistics are estimated to be about twice that of KEK-PS E373. The quadrupole moment of the neutron-halo nucleus 11Li

The quadrupole moment ratio of 9Li and 11Li was measured by a combination of in-beam laser induced nuclear polarization and β-NMR in LiNbO3. The result |Q(11Li)/Q(9Li)| = 1.14(16) is consistent with cluster models describing 11Li as composed of a 9Li core and a far extended halo of two loosely bound neutrons.

Systematic investigation of the drip-line nuclei 11Li and 14Be and their unbound subsystems 10Li and 13Be

Fragmentation reactions in a carbon target with beams of 11Li and 14Be at relativistic energies have been studied in a kinematically complete experiment at the ALADIN-LAND setup at GSI. Excited states in 11Li and 14Be were obtained from the data in the inelastic channel. The measured cross sections with the core nucleus in the final state show that in the 14Be case core polarization plays an important role. In the one-neutron knockout channels the measured angular correlations between fragment and neutron are asymmetric, which demonstrates the presence of states with different parities in the 11Li and 14Be ground states.
