Finite energy chiral sum rules in QCD

The saturation of QCD chiral sum rules of the Weinberg-type is analyzed using ALEPH and OPAL experimental data on the difference between vector and axial-vector correlators (V-A). The sum rules exhibit poor saturation up to current energies below the tau-lepton mass. A remarkable improvement is achieved by introducing integral kernels that vanish at the upper limit of integration. The method is used to determine the value of the finite remainder of the (V-A) correlator, and its first derivative, at zero momentum: $\bar{\Pi}(0) = - 4 \bar{L}_{10} = 0.0257 \pm 0.0003 ,$ and $\bar{\Pi}^{\prime}(0) = 0.065 \pm 0.007 {GeV}^{-2}$. QCD Radiative Correction to Zero Recoil Sum Rules for Heavy Flavor Transitions in the Small Velocity Limit.

We consider the small velocity sum rules for heavy flavour semileptonic transitions that are used to estimate the zero recoil values of semileptonic heavy flavour form factors. We analyze the complete O($\alpha _S$) radiative correction to these sum rules. The corrections are universal and influence all "model-independent" bounds previously derived for semileptonic form factors at zero recoil.
THE OPERATOR PRODUCT EXPANSION OF THE QCD PROPAGATORS

We bring together for the first time the coefficients in covariant gauges of all the condensates of dimension four or less in the operator product expansion (OPE) of the quark, gluon and ghost propagators. It is stressed that contrary to general belief the condensates do not enter the OPE of the propagators in gauge-invariant combinations like [Formula: see text] and 〈G2〉. The results are presented in arbitrary dimension to lowest order in the light quark masses for the SU (Nc) internal symmetry group. Triquark correlations and pentaquarks in a QCD sum rule approach

The role of quark correlations in the description of hadron dynamics in many domains of physics, from low energy dynamics to very hot(dense) systems, is being appreciated. Strong correlations of two quarks (diquark) have been widely investigated in this respect. Recently, we have proposed a dynamical scheme to describe the $\Theta^+$ pentaquark in which also three quark correlations (triquark) were instrumental in producing a low mass exotic state. We perform a study, within the QCD sum rule approach including OPE and direct instanton contributions, of triquark correlations and obtain two quasi-bound light $ud\bar{s}$ color quark clusters of 800 MeV and 930 MeV respectively.
Confronting hadronic tau decays with non-leptonic kaon decays

In the chiral limit, the $D=6$ contribution to the Operator Product Expansion (OPE) of the $\mathrm{VV-AA}$ correlator of quark currents only depends on two vacuum condensates, which can be related to hadronic matrix elements associated to CP violation in non-leptonic kaon decays. We use those relations to determine $\langle(\pi\pi)_{I=2}|\mathcal{Q}_{8}|K\rangle$, using the updated ALEPH spectral functions. Alternatively, we use those relations in the opposite direction. Taking the values of the matrix elements from the lattice to obtain the $D=6$ vacuum elements provides a new short-distance constraint which allows for an inclusive determination of $f_{\pi}$ and an updated value for the $…
Theoretical determination of the hadronic (g-2) of the muon

An approach is discussed on the determination of the leading order hadronic contribution to the muon anomaly, $a_\mu^{HAD}$, based entirely on theory. This method makes no use of $e^+ e^-$ annihilation data, a likely source of the current discrepancy between theory and experiment beyond the $3\, \sigma$ level. What this method requires is essentially knowledge of the first derivative of the vector current correlator at zero-momentum. In the heavy-quark sector this is obtained from the well known heavy quark expansion in perturbative QCD, leading to values of $a_\mu^{HAD}$ in the charm- and bottom-quark region which were fully confirmed by later lattice QCD (LQCD) results. HQE parameters from unquenched lattice data on pseudoscalar and vector heavy-light meson masses

We present a new lattice determination of some of the parameters appearing both in the Operator Product Expansion (OPE) analysis of the inclusive semileptonic $B$-meson decays and in the Heavy Quark Expansion (HQE) of the pseudoscalar (PS) and vector (V) heavy-light meson masses. We perform a lattice QCD (LQCD) computation of PS and V heavy-light meson masses for heavy-quark masses $m_h$ in the range from $m_c^{\rm phys}$ to $\simeq 4m_b^{\rm phys}$. We employed the $N_f = 2+1+1$ gauge configurations of the European Twisted Mass Collaboration (ETMC) at three values of the lattice spacing $a \simeq (0.062, 0.082, 0.089)$ fm with pion masses in the range $M_\pi \simeq (210 - 450)$ MeV. Kaon Physics: Theory Overview

Kaon decays have played a key role in the construction of the Standard Model and continue to be an important testing ground of the electroweak flavour theory. They can provide new signals of CP-violation phenomena and, perhaps, a window into physics beyond the Standard Model. The interplay of long-distance QCD effects in strangeness-changing transitions can be analyzed, combining the short-distance Operator Product Expansion with Chiral Perturbation Theory techniques. A brief overview is presented, focusing on a few selected decay modes. A more detailed and comprehensive review can be found in arXiv:1107.6001.
Operator product expansion and quark condensate from Lattice QCD in coordinate space

We present a lattice QCD determination of the chiral quark condensate based on a new method. We extract the quark condensate from the operator product expansion of the quark propagator at short euclidean distances, where it represents the leading contribution in the chiral limit. From this study we obtain MS( 2 GeV) = -( 265 +/- 5 +/- 22MeV)(3), in good agreement with determinations of this quantity based on different approaches. The simulation is performed by using the O( a)- improved Wilson action at beta = 6.45 on a volume 32(3) x 70 in the quenched approximation.
