Tardigrades reports from British Columbia (Canada) trace back to 1908 and numerous species have been recorded from this region, despite the relatively few published sampling studies. We describe by integrative taxonomy (light microscopy morphology, morphometrics, and DNA sequencing) a new tardigrade species, Sisubiotus hakaiensis sp. nov. from the British Columbia central coast. The new species has been found in moss collected from a vertical rock outcrop near the Hakai Institute Calvert Island Field Station. Silene kemoniana, a new species of the section Dipterosperma from NW Sicily, is described and illustrated. It is a therophyte that occurs in mountains near Palermo, where it grows on Mesozoic limestones in xerophilous garigues. Its relationships with S. colorata and allied species are also examined. At present, the metazoan parasite fauna of most species of otariids is generally poorly known, in part because these marine mammals are mostly protected and, therefore, sampling is limited to specimens stranded on the coast or captured as by-catch in fisheries. Similar problems also occur for the larval stages of gastrointestinal helminths of otariids. For most of these parasite species, the specific identity of the intermediate/paratenic of hosts is unknown and, therefore, many stages of their life cycles remain to be described. Przedstawiona praca dotyczy metod syntezy oktakarboksyftalocyjanin cynku, glinu i galu oraz ich charakterystyki spektralnej (spektroskopii UV-Vis), którą przestawiono zarówno z punktu widzenia eksperymentalnego, jak i teoretycznego. Opisano istniejące metody syntezy ftalocyjanin i ich modyfikacje prowadzące do uzyskania pochodnych rozpuszczalnych w wodzie, mających jako podstawniki peryferyjne osiem grup karboksylowych. Scharakteryzowano widma absorpcyjne UV- Vis typowe dla ftalocyjanin, dzięki którym można uzyskać wiele cennych informacji na temat tych kompleksów.
