Clinical effect of vitamin C supplementation on bone healing: A systematic review

Background: The aim of the present systematic review was to evaluate the clinical effect of vitamin C on bone healing after bone fracture or bone reconstruction procedures. Material and Methods: In October 2020, Cochrane Library, Scopus and PubMed-Medline databases were searched without restrictions to identify animal and human studies that fulfilled the eligibility criteria. Outcome measures were bone healing time, bone gain (mm), bone density and adverse events. The risk of bias assessment of the selected studies was evaluated by means of Cochrane Collaboration's Tool for randomized clinical trials, while randomized clinical animal trials were assessed according to SYRCLE's tool. Cyanido-Bridged FeII-MI Dimetallic Hofmann-Like Spin-Crossover Coordination Polymers Based on 2,6-Naphthyridine

[EN] Two new 3D spin-crossover (SCO) Hofmann-type coordination polymers {Fe(2,6-naphthy)[Ag(CN)2][Ag2(CN)3]} (1; 2,6-naphthy = 2,6-naphthyridine) and {Fe(2,6-naphthy)- [Au(CN)2]2}·0.5PhNO2 (2) were synthesized and characterized. Both derivatives are made up of infinite stacks of {Fe[Ag(CN)2]2- [Ag2(CN)3]}n and {Fe[Au(CN)2]2}n layered grids connected by pillars of 2,6-naphthy ligands coordinated to the axial positions of the FeII centers of alternate layers.

Effect of disorder on Majorana localization in topological superconductors: a quasiclassical approach

Two-dimensional (2D) topological superconductors (TS) host chiral Majorana modes (MMs) localized at the boundaries. In this work, we study the effect of disorder on the localization length of MMs in two-dimensional spin-orbit (SO) coupled superconductors within quasiclassical approximation. We find nonmonotonic behavior of the Majorana localization length as a function of disorder strength. At weak disorder, the Majorana localization length decreases with an increasing disorder strength. Decreasing the disorder scattering time below a crossover value ${\ensuremath{\tau}}_{c}$, the Majorana localization length starts to increase. In their Communication on page 8675 ff., J. A. Real, E. Collet et al. describe the appearance of spin-state concentration waves between long-range spatially ordered structures of low- and high-spin states during multistep spin-crossover.

Les découvertes du second âge du Fer correspondent à un ensemble de deux enclos successifs. Un premier enclos, d'une surface de près de 2 ha, doté d'un partitionnement interne, a livré un nombre limité de structures. La mise en place de cet enclos, probablement à vocation agro-pastorale, se fait dans la seconde moitié du IIe s. av. n. è. Le seond enclos, d'ampleur plus réduite (1 ha) présentait un accès matérialisé par un système de franchissement monumental de type tour-porche. Les comblements de fossé des deux enclos ont révéle une forte densité de mobilier céramique et amphorique ainsi que quelques éléments remarquables pour le seconde enclos : statuaire, instrumentum métallique, monnaie…

On the Influence of Grammars on Crossover in Grammatical Evolution

Standard grammatical evolution (GE) uses a one-point crossover (“ripple crossover”) that exchanges codons between two genotypes. The two resulting genotypes are then mapped to their respective phenotypes using a Backus-Naur form grammar. This article studies how different types of grammars affect the resulting individuals of a ripple crossover. We distinguish different grammars based on the expected number of non-terminals chosen when mapping genotype codons to phenotypes, \(B_{avg}\). The grammars only differ in \(B_{avg}\) but can express the same phenotypes.
