A Discrete Model for a Network Having Broken Packages

Broken packages are packages with not enough information regarding the destination address and they have a negative impact on a computer network. Broken packages stay in the router too much time and overload it. This is a real problem which appears in the computer network of Sofia University. We know only the time when a broken package arrives in the router. The problem is to find the computer which send broken packages. The aim of this article is to propose a model for defining the data transmission stability and correctness in a computer network. Our theoretical model is temporal dependent and captures the transmission properties of a computer network.

In this paper we describe a novel Endpoint Admission Control scheme (EAC) for IP telephony. EAC mechanisms are driven by independent measurements taken by the edge nodes on a flow of packets injected in the network to probe the source to destination path. Our scheme is characterized by two fundamental features. First, it does not rely on any additional procedure in internal network routers other than the capability to apply different service priorities to probing and data packets. PCP-DV: An End-to end Admission Control Mechanism for IP Telephony

In this paper we describe a novel endpoint admission control mechanism for IP telephony:the PCP-DV which is characterized by two fundamental features. First, it does not rely on any additional procedure in internal network routers other than the capability to apply different service priority to probing and data packets. Second, the triggering mechanism for the connection admission decision is based on the analysis of the delay variation statistics over the probing flow. Numerical results for an IP telephony traffic scenario prove that 99th delay percentiles not greater than few ms per router are guaranteed even in overload conditions.

A mini-slot-based cooperative MAC protocol for wireless mesh networks

This paper proposes a TDMA-based medium access control protocol with cooperative communications enabled in wireless mesh networks. The proposed scheme is based on a multi-hop scenario which is extended from the conventional one-hop triangle cooperative transmission scenario. Benefiting from the elaborate mini-slot design, channel resources are fairly and efficiently allocated to each router so that no handshake is needed prior to every packet transmission. Iron uptake mechanisms were investigated in different species of Salmonella isolated from environmental waters. All strains examined were able to grow in the presence of high concentrations (10 mM) of the iron chelator EDDA. All strains excreted phenolate and hydroxamate siderophores, as assessed by bioassays and chemical tests. Bioassays with different indicator strains showed that all Salmonella strains can cross-feed other Enterobacteria, as well as mutants of Salmonella typhimurium deficient in the Enterobactin system, suggesting that this siderophore may be produced by the environmental Salmonella strains. Neisseria gonorrhoeae expresses numerous surface proteins that mediate bacterial adherence and invasion during infection. Gonococci expressing serotype A of the major outer membrane porin PorB (PorB(IA)) are frequently isolated from patients with severe disseminating infections. PorB(IA) triggers efficient adherence and invasion under low phosphate conditions mimicking systemic bloodstream infections. In this study, we have reevaluated the taxonomic position of biotype 2 of Vibrio vulnificus. For this purpose, we have biochemically and serologically characterized 83 biotype 2 strains from diseased eels, comparing them with 17 biotype 1 strains from different sources. Selected strains were also molecularly analyzed and tested for eel and mouse pathogenicity. Lipopolysaccharides (LPS) of 11 strains of Vibrio vulnificus biotypes 1 and 2, isolated from an eel farm, and of 10 reference strains, were examined by SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis coupled with silver staining and immunoblotting. LPS samples were obtained from whole-cell lysates, outer membrane fragments, and extracellular products. By silver staining, only a diffuse band of low-molecular weight could be visualized in all cases except for a biotype 1 strain isolated from water.
