Il contributo esamina due dipinti conservati nelle chiese di Petralia Sottana, centro delle alte Madonie. Si tratta della tela raffigurante San Carlo Borromeo della Chiesa Madre che, datata al secondo decennio del Seicento, viene riferita a Giuseppe Salerno, pittore della maniera conosciuto insieme al suo concittadino Gaspare Bazzano come Zoppo di Gangi. L’altro dipinto, invece, è l’affresco raffigurante La disputa di Gesù con i Dottori della chiesa di San Francesco d’Assisi che, riferito dubitativamente pure al Salerno, viene ricondotto ad anonimo pittore della maniera. Aim: To evaluate the retention of an endodontic titanium post with a spherical head for removable partial denture or overdenture attachment according to surface treatment type. Methods: Sixty healthy single-rooted teeth, sectioned at the enamel/cementum junction, were treated endodontically and steadily fixed in the embedding acrylic resin. The titanium posts were subdivided into four groups: control, no surface treatment (Ctrl); posts with macro-retentive grooves (MR); air abrasion of the post surface (AB); and posts with macro-retentive grooves and air abrasion of the post surface (MR+AB). Background The aim of this study includes synthesis of zinc dimethacrylate ionomer (ZDMA) by a new method, incorporate it into resin bonding and evaluate its antibacterial, physical and mechanical properties. Background This study investigated the effect of post bleaching treatments to the change of enamel elastic modulus and microhardness after dental bleaching in- vitro. Material and Methods Fifty bovine incisor slab were randomly assigned into five groups (n=10). The samples were bleached for three times; 20 minutes each time, by 40% hydrogen peroxide. Next it was applied fractional CO2 laser for two minutes, Nano- hydroxy apatite (N-HA) and MI-paste for 7 days and 2 minutes per day. Background: Recently, smoothies with a high vegetable content have become very popular, especially among young adults. Objectives: This in vitro study was conducted to determine the erosive potential of selected green vegetables and green smoothies on human dental enamel. Methods: A total of ten green smoothies and eight freshly mixed vegetables were chosen, and pH, calcium and oxalic acid contents were measured. The enamel specimens were obtained from wisdom teeth and incubated with 3 selected foods (spinach, parsley, or green smoothie) for 12 and 24 hours (N = 6). The impact of arthropods on fungal community structure in Lascaux Cave

Aims: To determine the major components of the fungal population present in Lascaux Cave, France. The ceiling, walls, sediments and soil were colonized by Fusarium solani in 2001 and later, in 2006, black stains appeared. However, the origin of the successive fungal invasions is unknown as well as the ecology of the cave. Methods and Results: The primers nu-SSU-0817F and nu-SSU-1536R were used for the direct amplification of fungal 18S-rDNA sequences from 11 samples. A total of 607 clones were retrieved.
