BACKGROUND Long-acting injectable (LAI) antipsychotics can improve medication adherence and reduce hospitalisation rates compared with oral treatments. Paliperidone palmitate (PAL) and aripiprazole monohydrate (ARI) LAI treatments were associated with improvements in global functioning in patients with schizophrenia. I Vaticana fragmenta a due secoli dalla riscoperta

Two centuries have passed since the palimpsest that transmits a Roman legal work known as the Vaticana fragmenta was rediscovered by Angelo Mai in the Vatican Apostolic Library in Rome. This paper reviews the main issues relating to this work and suggests some reasons why a new edition of the text is desirable. 1820 hat Angelo Mai in der Vatikanischen Apostolischen Bibliothek in Rom ein Palimpsest wiederentdeckt, welches ein römisches Rechtswerk – die so genannte Vaticana Fragmenta – überliefert. 200 Jahre sind seitdem genau vergangen. Dieser Beitrag gibt einen Überblick über die wichtigsten Aspekte dieses Werks und zeigt Gründe auf, warum eine neue Ausgabe dieses Textes wünschenswert ist.

Diplomdarba mērķis ir uzzināt PA nodaļā strādājošu speciālistu pieredzies un priekšstatus saistībā ar miršanu un nāvi un to, kādas speciālista attiecības ar nāvi šajās pieredzēs un priekšstatos atklājas. Mana konceptuālā perspektīva iekļauj 4 dimensijas speciālistu attiecībās ar nāvi: individuālā, sociālā, iemiesotā un telpiskā. Lauka darbā veicu 13 padziļinātas daļēji strukturētas intervijas vienā no Latvijas paliatīvās aprūpes nodaļu kolektīviem. Intervijās atklājās tas, ka speciālistu attiecības ar nāvi veido attiecības ar pacientiem, viņu tuviniekiem un kolēģiem. Speciālistu attiecības ar nāvi izpaužas arī paliatīvās nodaļas telpās un saistībā ar mirstošiem un mirušiem ķermeņiem.

Miniature Neolithic figurines in clay are a special topic of research. This especially concerns areas where their representation has so far been poor. While carrying out archaeological excavations in Northern Kurzeme, the north west coastal dune yone of Riga Bay, a ritual-like complex was recovered at Gipka A site belonging to the local Culture of Pit Ceramics. It consists of several large and smaller fireplaces and pits, with the finds of fragmentary clay figurines recovered under the palisade that surrounded the settlement. This study, based on the 'Servizi Territoriali Associati per la Ricerca' (STAR) Network Depot Study nationwide baseline data, explored whether individual symptoms severity and clusters might influence the prescription of paliperidone palmitate 1-month (PP1M) vs. aripiprazole monohydrate. The Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale (BPRS) was used to assess psychopathology and relevant symptoms clusters. Drug Attitude Inventory, 10 items, was used to test attitude towards medications. Adherence to treatments was rated according to the Kemp seven-point scale. In diesem Buch ist die Geschichte der Wiederentdeckung des Palimpsests mit den Gaius-Institutionen durch Barthold Georg Niebuhr neu verhandelt. Die jüngst wiederbelebte These von einer „angekündigten Entdeckung“ wird in Frage gestellt. Das verzerrte Bild des Niebuhrschen Fundes in der Sicht dieser These ist kein Zufall. Es stellt sich vielmehr als später Nachklang wissenschaftlicher Querelen jener Zeit dar. Desmoplastic trichilemmoma (DT), the pseudomalignant variant of conventional trichilemmoma described by Hunt et al in 1990, displays a superficial lobular growth pattern of glycogen-rich cells with peripheral nuclear palisading surrounded by a thickened basement membrane. DT differs from its conventional counterpart by showing a central hyalinized area with epithelial cords and strands mimicking invasive carcinoma. We report a case that fully satisfies the criteria for DT and, in addition, shows an extensive melanocytic cell component and prominent melanin deposition.
