An important element in the identity constructs of both sides of the border, the Mexican-American War of 1846-1848 is often depicted exclusively through a nationalist perspective, with strong associations of victor and vanquished. This article explores how the Californio community in San Diego was divided during this conflict with active support given to both nations involved. While such a division can be examined and understood in a local context, it poses problems for the national discourses surrounding the acquisition of California by the United States. The origin of the Late Cretaceous (~100 – 65 Ma) global cooling is not yet well understood. The evolution of sea surface and bottom temperatures shows an acceleration of the cooling during the Campanian stage (~84 Ma). The main goal of this study was to explore the processes driving this cooling, focusing on Campanian sediments from the Tethyan, Boreal and Atlantic realms.The clay mineralogical assemblages of several (hemi)pelagic sites, selected along a S-N transect, from 5° to 45°N, reveal an increase in continental weathering during the Campanian, expressed by enhanced kaolinite inputs. The detrital input related to the uplift of new continental areas seems to evolve from south to north.…

In this article is cheked information about two bell beaker sites from Vinalopo Valley –Peñón de la Zorra and Puntal de los Carniceros–. The importance of this archaeological sites of investigation concerning Levante areas have got that these places would be an obligatory reference since the publication by J.M. Soler Garcia.

L'antico campanile della cattedrale di Lecce si trovava in una posizione diversa rispetto a quello esistente costruito nel 1658. La maestosa torre, con cinque ordini e una terminazione a corona, era collocata di fianco all'antica facciata principale della chiesa, sul lato sinistro.
