Tässä Pro gradu –tutkielmassa selvitettiin, kuinka osinkoperusteinen arvonmääritys toimii S&P 500 indeksiin kuukausittaisella otannalla 1871 – 2016. Tämän lisäksi kartoitettiin, kuinka eri taloudelliset tekijät voivat selittää osaketuottoja. Samalla kartoitettiin miten muuttujien relaatiot ovat muuttuneet pitkällä aikavälillä. Tutkielmassa luotiin eri hintaestimaatteja, joilla pyrittiin arvioimaan tulevaisuuden osakehintaindeksin tasoja ja testattiin, kuinka hyvin estimaatit osuivat. Muuttujien relaatioita tutkittiin yhteisintegraatiotesteillä ja Granger –kausaalisuustesteillä, joiden perusteella voitiin päätellä, miten muuttujat ovat yhteydessä toisiinsa. Tämän työn tarkoituksena on selvittää, onko Pohjoismaissa havaittavissa alhaisen volatiliteetin anomaliaa ja tutkia volatiliteetin ja osaketuottojen suhdetta. Volatiliteettia mitataan osaketuottojen yhtiökohtaisella (idiosynkraattisella) volatiliteetilla, sekä yksinkertaisella volatiliteetilla. Tutkimuskysymystä tarkastellaan muodostamalla portfolioita osaketuotoista volatiliteetin mukaan. Käytettävä aineisto on Pohjoismaisilta osakemarkkinoilta vuosilta 1990–2013. Käytetyt hinnoittelumallit ovat CAPM, Fama & French -malli, sekä neljän faktorin malli. This concluding chapter summarizes the findings of the volume, and combines those findings with a comparative life-cycle perspective. We demonstrate how pulp and paper industry companies have emerged and exited in different countries. We highlight technology, raw materials, markets and products as factors explaining changes in industry structure and dominance. We demonstrate that industrial growth and the accumulation of technological knowledge require a certain maturity of political systems, regulation, and organization of research and development. Pro gradu -tutkielman kirjallisuusosassa tavoitteena oli esitellä kemiallisia kontrastin lisäysmenetelmiä puukuitumateriaalille. Kontrastin lisäyksen tavoitteena on pystyä paikallistamaan kuitufraktioita, kuten nanoselluloosaa ja hienoainesta, paperiarkista röntgentomografiakuvauksen avulla. Kuidun eri kerrosten kontrastien lisääminen toisiin kerroksiin nähden auttaisi myös kuidun yksityiskohtaisen kerrosrakenteen määrittämisessä tomografiakuvantamisella, mikä on myös yhtenä tavoiteltavana kohteena. Four major toners are used in the printing industry, cyan, magenta, yellow and black (Key) for making color images on paper. Paper brands suitable for printing have thin mineral/latex coatings, and toners are applied on top of the coating in the printing process. Chemical compositions from toner to toner, as well as from coating to coating, vary according to the needs of the end user. Hygro-elasto-plastic model for planar orthotropic material

An in-plane elasto-plastic material model and a hygroexpansivity-shrinkage model for paper and board are introduced in this paper. The input parameters for both models are fiber orientation anisotropy and dry solids content. These two models, based on experimental results, could be used in an analytical approach to estimate, for example, plastic strain and shrinkage in simple one-dimensional cases, but for studies of the combined and more complicated effects of hygro-elasto-plastic behavior, a numerical finite element model was constructed. Preparation and Characterization of Pulp and Paper Mill Sludge-Activated Biochars Using Alkaline Activation : A Box–Behnken Design Approach

This study utilized pulp and paper mill sludge as a carbon source to produce activated biochar adsorbents. The response surface methodology (RSM) application for predicting and optimizing the activated biochar preparation conditions was investigated. Biochars were prepared based on a Box–Behnken design (BBD) approach with three independent factors (i.e., pyrolysis temperature, holding time, and KOH:biomass ratio), and the responses evaluated were specific surface area (SSA), micropore area (Smicro), and mesopore area (Smeso).
