Justification of Construction Parameters of the Screen in the Small-Sized Household Biomass Chopper

The mechanism of influence of screen design parameters on the technological process and the particle size distribution of the chopped biomass were determined in this research. The presented engineering solutions make it possible to design the screen for chopping the given biomass material. The modernized construction expands the scope of application of small-sized chopper, especially when used in private farm households. Size control of the chopped material allows to use material as fuel, material for mulching of berry plantations and gardens, material for production of constructional and insulating wood concrete.

Assessment and optimization of system parameters in size exclusion separation of proteins on diol-modified silica columns

Abstract On diol-modified silica columns the retention of proteins is governed by a size exclusion effect, but superimposed on this are some secondary effects, i.e. , ionic and diol-ligand interactions which can be controlled and adjusted reproducibly by varying the eluent composition. The eluent composition also affects the column efficiency and peak shape. Both dependences can be employed to obtain a better resolution of proteins than can be expected from size exclusion alone.

The dependence of circular dichroism in photoemission on the optical properties of Cs monolayers on Pt(111)

We report on the dependence of dichroic photoemission excited by circularly polarised light on the angle of photon incidence. We measured the difference in the angle-resolved photoemission intensities from Cs 5p semi-core levels excited by photons of opposite helicity, which is known as CDAD. We found that the dependence of the measured differences on the angle of light incidence deviates strongly from the model of CDAD for free atoms, as expected. A CPFD hydrodynamic model was developed for a circulating fluidized bed system and the simulation results were validated against experimental data based on particle circulation rate. Sensitivity of the computational mesh was primarily tested and extended grid refinement was needed at the loopseal to match the particle circulation rate with experimental data. The particle circulation rate was independent of the range of number of computational particles used in this study. A 10% reduction of the particle circulation rate was observed as the particle-wall interaction parameter was changed from 0.85 to 0.55 and 17% increment when the close-packed volume fraction was changed from 0.56 to 0.62. …

This paper addresses monoharmonic vibration attenuation using piezoelectric transducers shunted with electric impedances consisting of a resistance and an inductance in series. This type of vibration attenuation has several advantages but suffers from problems related to possible mistuning. High Frequency Model of PV Systems for the Evaluation of Ground Currents

A high frequency model of a photovoltaic (PV) plant is developed and analysed to investigate the common mode (CM) currents circulating through the ground connections of the plant. The modelling method is based on the measurement of the impedance frequency response of photovoltaic module and on a high frequency representation of the power conversion unit. An overall lumped parameters circuit model is obtained and then implemented in PSpice. The CM leakage currents are evaluated by simulation.

Efficient analysis of cubic junction of rectangular waveguides using admittance-matrix representation

In the paper an efficient and accurate method, based on the multimode-admittance-matrix representation and the theory of cavities, is proposed for the analysis of a six-port ‘cubic’ junction composed of the orthogonal intersection of three rectangular waveguides. Very simple closed-form analytical expressions are explicitly detailed for all matrix elements of this basic key building block. The diagnosis and monitoring of autoimmune diseases are very important problem in medicine. The most used test for this purpose is the antinuclear antibody (ANA) test. An indirect immunofluorescence (IIF) test performed by Human Epithelial type 2 (HEp-2) cells as substrate antigen is the most common methods to determine ANA.
