Canopy temperature is a key factor in many studies, such as evapotranspiration and heat fluxes estimation. To retrieve it accurately, it is needed a precise characterization of the emissivity in the thermal infrared spectral range. Linear and nonlinear parametric model identification to assess granger causality in short-term cardiovascular interactions

We assessed directional relationships between short RR interval and systolic arterial pressure (SAP) variability series according to the concept of Granger causality. Causality was quantified as the predictability improvement (PI) of a time series obtained when samples of the other series were used for prediction, i.e. moving from autoregressive (AR) to AR exogenous (ARX) prediction. Morphological parameters as predictors of successful correction of Class III malocclusion

The aim of the study was to assess pre-treatment cephalometric parameters and measurements of the size of the apical bases as predictors of successful orthodontic correction of Class III malocclusions. Pre- and post-treatment lateral cephalograms and study models of 80 completed Class III subjects were examined to obtain 23 cephalometric parameters taken mainly from the analyses of McNamara and Schwarz, and to measure the size of the apical bases. Positive solutions for singular double phase problems

Abstract We study the existence of positive solutions for a class of double phase Dirichlet equations which have the combined effects of a singular term and of a parametric superlinear term. The differential operator of the equation is the sum of a p-Laplacian and of a weighted q-Laplacian ( q p ) with discontinuous weight. Using the Nehari method, we show that for all small values of the parameter λ > 0 , the equation has at least two positive solutions.
