Teorie fonosimboliche nella storia
2016

2004
Polymorphous low-grade adenocarcinoma of the parotid gland : case report and review of the literature
2007
Polymorphous low-grade adenocarcinoma (PLGA) is difficult to diagnose both clinically and histologically due to its indolent presentation, and because of its morphological diversity that includes several microscopic patterns. The aggressive biologic behavior seen in minor salivary glands as compared to major glands is apparently associated histologically to a predominance of the papillary pattern in the former. Biologic behavior of PLGA in the major salivary glands is uncertain, as some cases have developed recurrences and metastases independently of the presence of a papillary pattern. A case of PLGA originated de novo in parotid gland is presented a 60 year-old male, treatment was surgica…
Focus on pediatric and adolescent varicocele: a single institution experience
2012
The aim of this study was to report our long-term diagnostic and surgical outcome during the last 18 years, in paediatric and adolescent management of varicocoele. The present retrospective study enrols 374 patients observed at our institution between 1994 and 2011. Patients were divided into three groups: Group A includes 142 youngsters and adolescents treated with open surgery for left varicocoele, in which a pre-operative CDUS was not performed; Group B includes 65 patients treated with open surgery in which a pre-operative CDUS evaluation was carried out, to assess varicocoele haemodynamic pattern and testicular volume. Group C includes 167 patients treated by laparoscopy and with pre-o…
Videolaparosurrenectomia: nostra esperienza preliminare
2004
INTRODUCTION: In 1992, Gagner described the first laparoscopic adrenalectomy. Since then this technique has been more and more widely employed and several studies confirmed its advantages, comparing to the traditional approach, in terms of reduction of mean hospital stay and therefore of the health expense. PATIENTS AND METHODS: The Authors' preliminary experience spreads from March to November 2003 when 4 patients were studied and thus underwent a transperitoneal laparoscopic adrenalectomy: 2 of them were affected by Cushing syndrome, 1 by pheochromocytoma in MEN and 1 by an incidentaloma. The transabdominal access in lateral decubitus with 4 trocars was performed. RESULTS: No complication…
Incidentaloma Surrenalico. Caso di Sindrome di Cushing subclinica.
2004
The authors describe a case of adrenal incidentaloma that was the cause of subclinical Cushing's syndrome and take the opportunity to weigh up some of the clinical, diagnostic and therapeutic aspects. Besides the particular expression of the symptoms which were difficult to interpret before reaching a diagnosis, the authors describe the diagnostic work-up adopted, aimed at precisely identifying the type of tumour and the surgical procedure implemented laparoscopically, the outstanding validity of which is confirmed compared to traditional adrenalectomy techniques.
