The first measurement of dielectron (e + e −) production in central (0 – 10 %) Pb – Pb collisions at √sNN=2.76TeV at the LHC is presented. The dielectron invariant-mass spectrum is compared to the expected contributions from hadron decays in the invariant-mass range 0 < mee < 3.5 GeV / c2. ABSTRACT Recent reports suggest that nuclear domain(s) 10 (ND10) is the site of papillomavirus morphogenesis. The viral genome replicates in or close to ND10. In addition, the minor capsid protein, L2, accumulates in these subnuclear structures and recruits the major capsid protein, L1. We have now used cell lines deficient for promyelocytic leukemia (PML) protein, the main structural component of ND10, to study the role of this nuclear protein for L2 incorporation into virus-like particles (VLPs). L2 expressed in PML protein knockout (PML −/− ) cells accumulated in nuclear dots, which resemble L2 aggregates forming at ND10 in PML protein-containing cells. These L2 assemblies also attracted…

We establish regularity for functions satisfying a dynamic programming equation, which may arise for example from stochastic games or discretization schemes. Remarks on regularity for p-Laplacian type equations in non-divergence form

We study a singular or degenerate equation in non-divergence form modeled by the $p$-Laplacian, $$-|Du|^\gamma\left(\Delta u+(p-2)\Delta_\infty^N u\right)=f\ \ \ \ \text{in}\ \ \ \Omega.$$ We investigate local $C^{1,\alpha}$ regularity of viscosity solutions in the full range $\gamma>-1$ and $p>1$, and provide local $W^{2,2}$ estimates in the restricted cases where $p$ is close to 2 and $\gamma$ is close to 0.

«Telemaco»: una ricerca sperimentale in prospettiva Student Voice

La ricerca «Telemaco» è stata svolta per promuovere una partecipazione attiva e responsabile degli studenti universitari alla didattica universitaria. A tal fine, si è ritenuto opportuno preparare tale partecipazione mediante l’applicazione di due metodi d’intervento con cui migliorare il loro senso di autoefficacia, la loro capacità di gestire l’ansia da prestazione e l’immagine del loro «sé» attuale: la scrittura espressiva e il tutoraggio tra pari. I risultati dimostrano l’efficacia di questi due metodi sulle tre competenze prese in esame. Valorizzare la voce scritta e orale degli studenti forma in loro una visione più democratica dell’insegnamento universitario, attiva processi virtuosi…
