The article explores Roberta Torre’s film Sud Side Stori (2000), an extravagant Italian re-vision of Romeo and Juliet set in the Sicilian city of Palermo which displays awareness of the global circulation of the story of the two ‘‘star-crossed lovers’’. In the film, which combines neo-realist cinematographic techniques with the artificial style of the musical, Shakespeare’s young lovers become Toni Giulietto, a lousy local rock singer, and Romea Wacoubo, a beautiful Nigerian prostitute who falls in love with him when she sees him standing on his balcony. Abstract Self-compassion is considered to be a healthy and adaptive attitude towards oneself, occurring both as a feature, as well as a state. Self-compassionate attitude towards oneself is composed of: a) kindness and understanding given to oneself b) mindfulness of one’s own experiences and c) a sense of community of experiences with humanity. Compassion towards oneself is structurally and functionally distinct from the self-commiseration and self-pity that lead to worse adaptation. This research explores the relation between a crisis and public discussion on related issues. In organisational crisis communication, a singleissue strategy is often proposed. Such a strategy, however, may not be adequate in more complex crises where the crisis lifecycle is likely to encompass shorter lifecycles of issues that generate media attention. Decomposing the online crisis debate into a pattern of issues supports understanding of public perceptions, and hence of crisis response and communication. Līdzjūtības pret sevi saistība ar ķermeņa tēlu un ēšanas uzvedību sievietēm.

Pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot, vai līdzjūtība pret sevi un līdzjūtība pret ķermeni ir mediators sakarībās starp ķermeņa tēla uztveri un problemātisku ēšanas uzvedību. Pētījumā piedalījās 289 sievietes vecumā no 18 līdz 50 gadiem un aizpildīja Ķermeņa tēla uztveres aptauju, aptaujas Līdzjūtība pret sevi un Līdzjūtība pret ķermeni, kā arī Ēšanas traucējumu noteikšanas aptauju. Rezultāti liecina par ciešām saistībām minēto konstruktu starpā, tika apstiprināts daļējs līdzjūtības pret sevi un līdzjūtības pret ķermeni mediatora efekts ķermeņa tēla un ēšanas traucējumu tendences sakarībās. Līdzjūtības pret ķermeni korelācijas un mediatora efekts bija izteiktāks, apliecinot nepieciešamību problem…
