Sviluppo partecipante e sistemi tradizionali: Il caso dei Borana dell'Etiopia
1992
In the development programs concerning the Ethiopian Borana local groups are assigned the role of principal group for development initiatives. As such, the project seems to meet the principle of participatory development. However, among the Borana, local communities have very little organizational significance and no say at all on matters regarding rights of property. Such authority is instead attributed to descent groups, which are not localized. In particular, clans have both the organizational capacity to coordinate collective investments on natural resources and the authority to guarantee personal and collective property rights. It is therefore suggested that a direct link with clans an…

Villiers-sur-Seine
2020
The known Bronze Age settlements between the Île-de-France and Champagne are usually small, unenclosed family farms. The Villiers-sur-Seine site, however, built in a visible and accessible location that enabled control of activities on the nearby river, is completely different: the two large buildings and their annexes were protected by a system of ditches and an ostentatious palisade. Though the Seine Valley was already anthropised at the end of the 9th century BC, this habitat seems to have had a significant impact on the nearby natural environment: development of agropastoral activities due to the extension of wet meadows, episodes of land clearing for construction, cultivation of variou…
La solitudine dell'Arcivescovo
2006
Orality in the literature of Africa's Horn : oral traditions, forms and pastoral mythologies literature, marks of orality in the literature
2012
The Horn of Africa has a traditional oral literature which is rich and varied as the rest of the continent, starting from pastoral mythology to poetry, legend and storytelling. But with the social upheaval which occurred with the arrival of European settlers and the introduction of writing, the chain of transmission of the oral tradition is threatened. Many Europeans have sought to describe the habits and customs of these people. Whereas on the other hand, the writers from the Horn of Africa are often inspired by giving it (orality) and a new way of doing it. The following research work strives to reflect traditional forms of orality and their impact on modern literature.
2010
This article analyses the notion of ‘treasure in heaven' (Matthew, 6, 19-21 and 19, 21) from the homilies and Gospel commentaries of the Church Fathers in the 4th and 5th centuries to the Carolingian exegetes. According to the patristic tradition, within the framework of the pastoral ministry of almsgiving then being established, the ‘treasure in heaven' is a topographical indication. It is the place where alms and good deeds which, under ecclesiastical control, allow men and possessions to cross over to the Other World are accumulated and ‘improved'. In the 9th century, the Carolingian monastic exegetes will perform a fundamental transformation by proposing to identify the ‘treasure in hea…
2018
The article analyses unpublished instructions written by a vice-prior of the Order of St. John in the late seventeenth century. They were directed at the conventual chaplains providing religious support to knights, soldiers and crew (including slave rowers) during the naval campaigns of the Order galleys, the so-called “caravane”. On one hand the work was inspired by literature on the “Christian soldier” (whose authors were often Jesuits), on the other it brought together the spiritual care issues directly experienced by the same chaplains on board. What emerged is their lack of preparation in fully accomplishing their pastoral duties in the cramped and mixed space of the galley, where the …
Uloga glazbe u dubrovackom pastoralnom teatru u 16. stoljecu. (The Role of the Music in the Pastoral Theatre in Dubrovnik during the Sixteenth Centur…
2004
The 16th-century pastoral plays in Dubrovnik (Ragusa), like the Italian ones which inspired them, are marked by the strong presence of sounds, songs and choruses to increase the fantastical and sentimental emphasis of the performances. Their evolution, from Dzore Drzic eclogues to the pastorals of Antun Sasin, and through Mauro Vetranovic's "Orfeo", is characterized by the acquisition of a Petrarchian language in the Croatian pieces of Nikola Naljeskovic. In the Dubrovnik pastoral plays, unlike the Italian ones, the presence of shepherds, nymphs, and rustic men (the "vlasi", Engl. Walachians or Morlacks) as well as the fantastic and comic elements, is constant. Music supports a narrative fu…
