Diplomdarba mērķis ir raksturot sociālā pedagoga darbību skolēnu veiksmīgas socializācijas veicināšanā, izstrādāt sociālā pedagoga darbības programmu Garkalnes Mākslu un vispārizglītojošā pamatskolā skolēnu veiksmīgas socializācijas veicināšanai un to aprobēt. Diplomdarbā tiek aktualizēta skolēnu sociālo prasmju apgūšanas nozīme. Pēc programmas aprobācijas, secināts, ka atstumto skolēnu skaits ir samazinājies.
