Projecte d'investigació-acció: Violència escolar i integració social

2006

Bullying victimization and muscle dysmorphic disorder in Italian adolescents: The mediating role of attachment to peers

2021

Abstract Bullying victimization has a negative impact on the psychological health of individuals, including in cases of muscle dysmorphic disorder (MD). However, research into possible mediation factors is sparse. The present study aimed to investigate the role of attachment to peers in the association between bullying victimization and MD. This study included 1,062 participants with an average age of 17.44 years (range 15–21 years; SD = 1.14) from four high schools in northwestern Italy. The hypothesized relationships among the variables were tested through structural equation model. Path analysis modeling yielded significant results showing an indirect path from bullying victimization to …

L’OPACIZZARSI DEL CONFLITTO FRA GIOVANI E ADULTI E L’AFFERMARSI DELLA VIOLENZA FRA PARI

2013

2017

The aim of this study was to analyse the relationship between the quality of attachment relationships with parents and peers on the one hand, and ego-resiliency and self- esteem on the other hand. The present research was conducted with a group of 218 students (male = 101) aged from 11 to 19 years (M = 14.43, DS = 2.60). The results emphasize that (a) self-esteem is positively associated only with security of attachment to the mother, (b) ego-resil- iency is positively associated with security of attachment both to mother and peers, and (c) boys seem to have higher levels of self-esteem and ego-resiliency than girls.

Examining Controlling Styles of Significant Others and Their Implications for Motivation, Boredom and Burnout in Young Swimmers

2021

The aim of the study was to examine the controlling style in two contexts of social influence: the team (i.e., coach and teammates) and the family (i.e., father and mother), as well as the mediational role of motivation (autonomous, controlled, and amotivation) and its relationship with boredom and burnout in young swimmers. To this end, 267 swimmers (140 girls and 127 boys) between 12 and 18 years of age (M = 14.26; SD = 1.61) were assessed. The results showed that in the team context, coaches’ controlling style directly promoted controlled motivation and boredom in their swimmers, and indirectly influenced burnout through the mediating role of swimmers’ controlled motivation. Teammates’ c…

Parenting, Peer Relationships, Academic Self-efficacy, and Academic Achievement: Direct and Mediating Effects

2017

The aim of the present study is to analyze the relation between authoritative and permissive parenting styles with the kinds of adolescent peer relationships (attachment, victimization, or aggression), and of the latter ones, in turn, with academic self-efficacy, and academic performance, in three waves that range from the early-mid adolescence to late adolescence. Five hundred Spanish adolescents, of both sexes, participated in a three-wave longitudinal study in Valencia, Spain. In the first wave, adolescents were either in the third year of secondary school or the fourth year of secondary school. The mean age in the first wave was 14.70 (SD = 0.68; range = 13–16 years). The troubled identities in relationship between peers and the role of the viewer

2012

10 th Conference of the European Sociological Association – ESA Social relations in turbulent times GENEVA September 2011 Globalization has dispersed along several different lines of action the historical concepts of war and enemy. Yet globalization has also changed the way in which victims are figuratively and symbolically produced. In other words, both ways of dealing with violence today are dramatically changed, especially in intimate and peer relationship. Today it is instead an ever more worrisome in the dynamics of inner life and redefines the boundaries of each other’s identity and the weights that social actors have in their private life. One of the most striking aspects of these tu…
