PENIS MORPHOLOGY IN ONCOPODIDAE (OPILIONES, LANIATORES): EVOLUTIONARY TRENDS AND RELATIONSHIPS

Abstract An interim report on our ongoing revisional study is given together with a short summary of the current knowledge on the systematics and distribution of the family Oncopodidae (Opiliones, Laniatores). An exceptionally high diversity in male genitalia is shown and its possible evolution is discussed. Four major penis types are distinguished in the Oncopodidae and compared with similar forms in other laniatorean families.

Laikā mainīga objekta izmēra ietekme uz akomodācijas atbildi

Bakalaura darbs ir uzrakstīts latviešu valodā uz 25 lapaspusēm. Tas satur 18 attēlus, 2 tabulas un 23 atsauces uz literatūras avotiem. Darba mērķis bija novērtēt kā laikā mainīga izmēra stimuls ietekmē akomodācijas darbību. Šķērsgriezuma pētījumā tika analizēta akomodācijas atbilde demonstrējot 2 video, kuros burta izmērs laika periodā palielinājās un samazinājās pakāpeniski vai vienmērīgi, un video ar “pulsējošu” kvadrāta palielināšanās un samazināšanos efektu. Pētījuma rezultāti parādīja, ka akomodācijas atbilde samazinās, burta izmēram palielinoties fiksētā 40 cm attālumā, bet samazinoties burta izmēram akomodācijas atbilde palielinās. INTRODUCTION: We decided to conduct a study to investigate the presence of cytokines in the albuginea of subjects with Peyronie's disease (PD). Cytokines, as responsible for intercellular communication, maybe involved in the pathogenesis of the disease. The identification of one or more involved cytokines may, in fact, be useful in the pharmacological treatment with biologic drugs that are able to interfere with specific cytokines. Penile carcinoma is a rare and aggressive disease. Its incidence is related with age over 60 and presence of comorbidities such as HPV infection. The higher incidence rate is reached in developing countries. Penile carcinoma is generally a squamous cell carcinoma and it is frequently foregone by a premalignant lesion. Because of its short time to progression, an early detection is mandatory. Good physical examination is the first step toward a correct diagnosis and staging.
