The Finnish word ’henkilö’ is difficult to translate in English as a ‘Person’, but in international plan-language, Esperanto, we can quite exactly translate it as ‘spiritulo’. The word henkilö, spiritulo, is developed in the 19th century from the ancient Finnish word ‘henki’ by the medical doctor in Jyväskylä region Wolmar Schildt-Kilpinen. Music listening is a great resource for mental well-being, pleasure, and self-regulation, but it may also be maladaptive. Depression, for instance, has been shown to relate to music use that is characterized by rumination, avoidance, and mood worsening. However, we know little of the role of individual differences in such maladaptive music use. Is personality related to permanent earnings? Evidence using a twin design

Using twin survey combined with register-based panel data on labor market outcomes, the authors examine the association between personality characteristics and long-term earnings among prime working-age individuals. The long-term earnings were measured over the 1990–2008 period. The sample contains 4,642 twin pairs, of which 53% are females. In contrast to previous studies, this paper uses the within-twin dimension of the data to control for shared family background and confounding genetic factors. Associations between Mental Well-being and Personality from a Llife Span Perspective

The associations between personality traits and mental well-being are analyzed using data from the Jyväskylä Longitudinal Study of Personality and Social Development (initial N = 369; 53% males). At ages 33/36 to 50, the NEO-PI and Scales of Psychological and Social Well-Being as well as indicators of emotional well-being were administered. Tutkin instrumenttivalintoja, siihen liittyviä stereotypioita ja sitä, kuinka niihin voi tulevana musiikinopettajana vaikuttaa. Instrumenttivalintoihin vaikuttaa moni asia ja siihen liittyvät stereotypiat ovat siitä tärkeä osa. Perehdyin ensin aiempiin tutkimuksiin aiheesta. Ensimmäiseksi käsittelen sukupuolistereotypioita, instrumenttien sukupuolittuneisuutta ja soittajan persoonan vaikutusta instrumenttivalintoihin. Sen jälkeen kerron myös muista instrumenttivalintoihin liittyvistä tekijöistä. Kolmanneksi käsittelen myös musiikin harrastuneisuuteen liittyviä tilastoja Suomesta ja Britanniasta.
