Objective The objective of this study was to analyze our long-term results after open surgery for popliteal artery aneurysm. Methods Records of patients who received surgery between 1998 and 2010 were retrieved from a computerized database and analyzed retrospectively. End points of the study were perioperative mortality and morbidity and patency and limb salvage rate. Objective: Evaluate the use of lingual mucosal graft (LMG) in anterior urethral strictures.Methods: From January 2001 to December 2006, 29 men (mean age, 48.5 yr) with anterior urethral strictures underwent graft urethroplasty with LMG. The mean length of stricture was 3.6 cm. Patients with bulbar, penile, or bulbopenile strictures received one-stage dorsal free graft urethroplasties. In patients with failed hypospadias repair we performed a two-stage urethroplasty. Criteria for successful reconstruction were spontaneous voiding with no postvoid residual urine and no postoperative instrumentation of any kind. W pracy przedstawiono podsumowanie 32 miesięcy działalności Serwisu Replantacyjnego dla amputacji rąk w Polsce od stycznia 2014 roku do sierpnia 2016 roku. W analizowanym czasie zgłoszono łącznie 568 przypadków – amputacji, częściowych amputacji i innych rozległych urazów kończyn górnych, z czego zaakceptowano 354 przypadki (62%), a odrzucono 214 (38%). Wśród 354 wszystkich zaakceptowanych przypadków znalazło się 167 całkowitych amputacji (47%), 142 amputacji niecałkowitych (40%) i 45 (13%) innych ciężkich urazów, które zagrażały utratą kończyny. Free vascularized fibular flap is considered the treatment of choice in mandibular reconstruction for extensive bone defects (over 6 centimeters) resulting from trauma, infections or tumor resections. But, when the reconstruction involves a dentate mandible, the fibula has the limit as it does not offer sufficient bone height to restore the alveolar arch up to the occlusal plane. In this article, the authors present their own experience in vulvar reconstruction following vulvectomy using two different innervated island flaps according to the size and site of the defect. Island-flap mobilization is possible thanks to the rich blood supply of the perineal region. The methods described are a "V-Y amplified sliding flap from the pubis" and a "fasciocutaneous island flap" raised from one or both gluteal folds. The V-Y amplified sliding flap from the pubis is indicated when the defect is symmetric and located anteriorly. This study reports our experience in a selected cohort of patients affected by mild-moderate OSAS, without tonsillar obstruction, and treated with pharyngoplasty.In a case-control retrospective study, we compared modified expansion sphincter pharyngoplasty (MESP) to modified barbed reposition pharyngoplasty (MBRP) in adult patients with oropharyngeal transversal collapse with a BMI ≤ 30 kg/mWe enrolled 20 patients: 10 treated with MESP and 10 treated with MBRP. Mean apnoea-hypoapnoea index (AHI) was 22.8 (± 5.63).
