Feasibility of using more polishable aggregates in dense-graded asphalt surface mixture: Case study of dolomite

This study aimed to evaluate the feasibility of using more dolomite aggregates in asphalt surface mixtures that are typically used by West Virginia Division of Highways (WVDOH). The laboratory test results indicated that increasing dolomite content in asphalt surface mixtures resulted in a faster deterioration rate at the early polishing stage. In addition, asphalt surface mixtures containing more than 50% dolomite coarse aggregates would significantly reduce roadway safety. The field test results validated that dolomite shall not exceed 50% of coarse aggregate in asphalt surface mixture if the projected traffic volume is greater than 3.0 million equivalent single axle loads (ESALs).

Artykuł stanowi omówienie propozycji bloku zajęć adresowanych do studentów obcojęzycznych, którego celem jest wzmocnienie kompetencji językowych, ale także przybliżenie sylwetek kilku znaczących reprezentantów polskiej sceny muzycznej: Czesława Niemena, Agnieszki Osieckiej, Wojciecha Młynarskiego, Kabaretu Starszych Panów. W założeniu ma to służyć podniesieniu motywacji cudzoziemców do nauki języka polskiego. Se presenta en este artículo un resumen del estudio pormenorizado que hemos realizado sobre una importante necrópolis tardo-antigua que, hoy por hoy y pese a su extensión y número total de individuos (cerca del millar), no puede vincularse con ningún núcleo urbano de importancia. Su desarrollo desde mediados del s. IV hasta la llegada de los musulmanes a inicios del s. Electronic tongues were developed some ten years ago. These systems consist of an array of nonspecific sensors and a signal processing unit. The sensor signals are processed by pattern recognition methods which makes possible the extraction of specific properties from the sample. Depending on the calibration, attributes such as quality or taste can be determined. These systems also detect changes in the sample that they are not calibrated for which makes possible the detection of anomalous occurrences. An adventive Panaeolus antillarum in Poland (Basidiomycota, Agaricales) with notes on its taxonomy, geographical distribution, and ecology

Abstract Coprophilous fungus, Panaeolus antillarum rarely recorded in Europe, is reported here for the first time from the Augustow Plane, north-eastern Poland. This thermophilic species was found outdoors in August on horse dung mixed with straw. A chemical analysis did not confirm the presence of the psychoactive alkaloids in collected material. A complete description and illustration of the species based on Polish specimens are presented and notes on its taxonomy, ecology, world distribution and comparison with similar taxa — P. semiovatus var. semiovatus, P. semiovatus var. phalaenarum, and others are also provided.

Nell’ambito delle attività della Missione Archeologica Italiana a Hierapolis di Frigia è stato sviluppato un ambizioso progetto di restituzione dell’immagine della città ellenistico-romana e bizantina denominato ‘Hierapolis Virtuale’, finalizzato al restauro virtuale e alla ricostruzione tridimensionale dei complessi monumentali oggetto di indagine da parte dei vari team di ricerca.
