Southwestern Sicily is an area of infrequent seismic activity; however, some studies carried out in the archaeological Selinunte site suggest that, between the fourth century BC and the early Middle Ages, probably at least two earthquakes strucked this area with enough energy to damage and cause the collapse and kinematics of much of the architecture of Selinunte. The work carried out in the Ph.D. program focused on developing the optics design of the Atmospheric Remote-Sensing Infrared Exoplanet Large Survey (Ariel) telescope, an optical/infrared mission of the European Space Agency (ESA), whose primary mirror is an off-axis paraboloid mirror measuring 1.2 · 0.7m. The novelty of the telescope is that both the mirrors and the telescope structure will be made of aluminium, and the primary mirror will be made of bare aluminium without a thick hard coating. Podstawowe samowartościowanie to poglądy danej osoby, dotyczące jej skuteczności, zdolności, wiary we własne siły i pozytywnego nastawienia do siebie i świata. Koncepcja skali jest konstruktem opartym o indywidualne zmienne dyspozycyjne, często badane w kontekście organizacyjnym. Są to: samoocena, wewnętrzne umiejscowienie kontroli, zgeneralizowana samoskuteczność oraz pozytywna afektywność. Study of the mechanical effects on passivity breakdown by local probe techniques

This paper aims at demonstrating that a relationship exists between surface stress and pitting corrosion. The surface stress field generated by polishing was first calculated using a thermo-mechanical model and a finite element code. Pitting corrosion tests performed at the microscale along the austenite/ferrite interface using the electrochemical microcell technique were then analyzed considering the microstructure and the residual surface stress field. Mechano-chemical criteria are proposed leading to an enhancement of pitting corrosion of duplex steels.

The Sapiehas and the Potockis were amongst the most influential families of the Polish‑Lithuanian Commonwealth. The latter family owned numerous estates in Ukraine, which were directly under threat from marching Lithuanian soldiers. Kazimierz Jan Sapieha, Grand Hetman of Lithuania was in charge of the said estates. Due to cooperation of the two magnate families, he attempted to shield the Potockis’ estates and possessions from Lithuanian troops marching to or returning from the war with Turkey. Abstract In 1648, an uprising broke out in Ukraine that belonged to Poland at the time. The war was not successful for the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. The Cossacks and Tartars, who were helping them during the war, surrounded Zbaraż, about whose defense everyone knew in the country. King Jan Kazimierz decided to set out to rescue the besieged fortress. It was decided that not only Polish troops, but also soldiers of Lithuania would set out for Ukraine.
