The University of Latvia has 19 th-century historical witness regarding the daily life of students during studies - the historical student solitary confinement cell. The origins of the student solitary confinement cell are found in medieval Germany, when universities were entitled to detain students into cells for the misdeeds during the studies. The idea was realized in the 19th century, which coincided with the time when German academic influence spread in the Baltics. During the occupation of the USSR, this history phenomenon was forgotten or distorted, but it is now rehabilitated. Rakstā tiek analizēta piemiņas plāksnes memoriālā nozīme kopīgajā Polijas un Latvijas valstu vēsturē, uzsverot poļu studentu korporāciju aizsākumus Baltijā. Uzmanības centrā ir Welecja korporants Ignācijas Moscickis, kurš studējis ir Rīgas Politehnikumā/Rīgas Politehniskajā institūtā, kā arī sniedzis ieguldījumu demokrātijas saglabāšanas mēģinājumā Polijas valstī.
Työelämäyhteistyö ammattikorkeakouluopettajan osaamishaasteena

Tässä tutkimuksessa tarkasteltiin ammattikorkeakouluopettajien työelämäyhteistyön osaamishaasteita. Tutkimusaineisto kerättiin yksilö- ja ryhmähaastatteluilla, joihin osallistui 16 eri alojen ammattikorkeakouluopettajaa. Aineisto analysoitiin temaattisella analyysillä. Työelämäyhteistyön osaamishaasteina tulivat esille muutos koulutuksen ja työelämän suhteissa, verkostomainen opettajuus, monipuolisten taitojen hallinta ja pedagogiikan uudistaminen. Ammattikorkeakouluopettajien työelämäyhteistyö edellyttää uusien taitojen omaksumisen lisäksi yhteisöllisyyden kehittämistä niin työelämän kuin opiskelijoidenkin kanssa.
Contribution of Woldemar von Knieriem to the Training and Experimental Farm «Peterhof» of Riga Polytechnicum and Riga Polytechnic Institute

The article is dedicated to Professor Woldemar von Knieriem (1849– 1935), who has made a significant contribution to the development of agricultural science, headed the Department of Agriculture of Riga Polytechnic Institute (1903–1906), as well as Training and Experimental Farm «Peterhof» (1880– 1915) near Olaine city. It became a model farm not only in the Baltic region but also throughout the Russian Empire. Professor W. von Knieriem was the Director of RPI (1906–1916), an outstanding organizer and author of scientific works. Julkaisun tarkoituksena on avata uusia näkökulmia ajankohtaiseen koulutuspoliittiseen keskusteluun opintourista. Raportissa tarkastellaan Tilastokeskuksen laajojen rekisteriaineistojen pohjalta opintouratyyppien ja koulutuksellisten siirtymien yleisyyttä ammatillisen toisen asteen peruskoulutuksessa ja korkeakoulutuksessa (ammattikorkeakouluissa ja yliopistoissa). Erilaisilla opintouratyypeillä tarkoitetaan opintojen keskeyttämistä, viivästymistä, valmistumista sekä koulutuksen vaihtoa koulutusasteelta, -sektorilta ja alalta toiselle.
