International audience; Several Late Turon places of community worship have been located in recent years, three of which have been explored: Amboise, Panzoult andCiran (Indre-et-Loire). They have one pre-eminent trait in common, namely the presence of large quantities of coins, but they also present anumber of differences: their context, their topography, particular aspects of consumption, and specific ritual treatment of certain types of find(burnt pottery and animal bone assemblages or even mutilated coins).

This thesis is based upon the study of 160 000 animal bones issued from 23 late iron-age sites excavated in the Auvergne region of central France. The assemblages represent different types of archaeological contexts (farms, aristocratic settlements, agglomerations, oppida, religious/ritual zones and funeral areas) which enable us to study their role in the domestic, craft and sacrificial spheres. This work is a synthesis of tumuli graves in Burgundy and Franche-Comté from Hallstatt C to La Tene B periods. The objective is to characterize the funeral assemblages in Southern Côte-d’Or as well as the influences and the tendencies that went through this area during the early Iron Age. A set of comparisons shows the particularities of the Southern Côte-d’Or at several levels: the recruitment of the populations, the position and orientation of the deceased, the architecture of the graves and their internal arrangements, the typology and positions of the personals items, the nature and locations of the deposits. The Burgundian vineyard hillslopes (Côte-d’Or, France) exhibit a high diversity of soils resulting from the combination of several natural and anthropogenic factors acting at various spatio-temporal scales. The soil types have major role in viticulture, since they partly determine wine-growing quality. However, soil undergoes important degradation caused by hydric erosion and vineyard management practices. Located in the so-called “Barrière du Lot” in the Martres-de-Veyre district, the “Chaumes d’Allier” funerary area consists of a burial site which was excavated between 1851 and 1923. The exceptional state of preservation of the organic remains which were unearthed there (hair, coffins, pieces of clothing, funerary furniture) granted the site its world-wide reputation although, paradoxically, it remained somewhat overlooked as a whole. International audience; Cette étude présente de manière critique les découvertes qui ont été faites à la fin du xix e siècle et au début du xx e siècle à Lailly La Tournerie (Yonne). Elle propose un classement typologique et chronologique de tous les objets mis au jour par catégorie fonctionnelle, ainsi que la reconstitution, pour la première fois, de plusieurs ensembles clos. Elle a ainsi permis de proposer une évolution de ce cimetière entre le second quart du v e siècle (La Tène A ancienne) et la première décennie du ii e siècle avant J.-C. (La Tène C1). Le rôle des pouvoirs publics, sans être négligeable, pèse somme toute assez peu face aux tendances socio-économiques et technologiques. Georges Pompidou a-t-il perçu, sinon compris, les nouvelles modalités de la vie culturelle du pays ? La modernité qu'il revendique — notamment dans le domaine des arts plastiques — est-elle en phase avec les pratiques culturelles des Français ?
