Imagery and Religious Conversion. The Symbolic Function of Jonah 1:13

Jonah 1:13 has a delaying function in the narrative, introducing a pause between Jonah’s demand to be thrown in the sea (1:12) and the event’s occurrence (1:15). Most commentators discuss only the events of 1:13 and their causes. In this article, I suggest an interpretation of Jonah 1:13 based on the imagery of the narrative. An analysis of the use of metaphors and symbols does not replace the message of the verse; such an analysis simply augments it with motives of the seamen’s conversion. Religious vocabulary covers a very wide area and includes numerous thematic blocks. From the lexicographer's point of view, it can be divided into two groups. The first is popular words often used in everyday life, and the second group in this conditional classification covers terminological religious vocabulary of a thematic nature, ranging from purely material, subject, cult concepts, and ending with philosophical and theological concepts. In the context of ongoing research, the author is interested in the specifics of translation and lexicographic description of eortonyms.

The Effect of Mechanocatalytic Pretreatment on the Structure and Depolymerization of Willow

In this study, the effect of a mechanocatalytic pretreatment on the structure of willow and sugar release from pretreated willow was explored. In the mechanocatalytic approach, the pretreatment consists of solvent-free impregnation with sulfuric acid and a mechanical treatment with ball milling. Willow sawdust and pretreated samples were analyzed with field emission scanning electron microscope and X-ray diffraction. The products in the sugar solution were determined as the total reducing sugars with the 3,5-dinitrosalicylic acid method and monosaccharides with capillary electrophoresis. In Section 2 I discuss some of the factors that may have played a role in causing the crisis and emphasise that supporters of different economic theories will assign different weights to each factor in their analyses. As a consequence, suggested economic policies are highly sensitive to the economic theory employed in evaluating the set of causes. Balstoties uz Freida sapņu interpretācijas teoriju, tika izstrādāts interdisciplinārs pētījums, kura mērķis ir piedāvāt lasītājam izmantot šādu mākslas darbu simbolu skaidrošanas metodi un ar tās palīdzību saprast kā simbolu nozīme gleznās var ietekmēt mūsu zemapziņu.
