This article explores specific aspects of literacy practices in teacher education in Norway, building upon data collected within the research project Digital literacy and use of learning resources in teacher education in Norway (DigiGLU). Challenges in developing in-service teacher training: Lessons learnt from two projects for teachers of Swedish in Finland

Teacher education in Finland is widely respected and of high quality. However, there is a recognised need to develop the educational continuum from pre-service education to in-service training. This article deals with challenges connected to in-service teacher training. Based on two projects, consisting of seven one-month courses for teachers of Swedish in Finland, we reflect on the challenges we encountered during the three-year process. This chapter addresses the issue of becoming a teacher, with the induction phase as a critical transition from initial teacher education to the lifelong professional learning of teachers, and mentoring as a tool of support. Quality leadership training has a positive effect on school leaders. Although there is an increased interest in overseas training for educational leaders in China, little is known about the leadership practices and professional development of school leaders. This study explored Chinese school principals’ perceptions of leadership practices and professional development after undertaking a Finnish training program in October 2011. Negotiating a transnational career around borders: Women's stories in boundaryless academia

The study aimed to give voice to two women sport scientists' life stories to centralize the challenges and ways of coping their career journeys entailed, and enlighten our understanding of the lived experience and meaning of academic migrating. Group consultation was used with educators at different stages of their careers as an innovative research tool in the development of both pre- and in-service teacher training for world citizenship education. The themes identified by the teachers were quite broad, and included the need for more educational philosophy, varied educational methodology and the skills to collaborate with other teachers in order to create a “culture of consultation in schools”.
