Background Obesity is a major health concern in western countries. In Norway, patients with obesity can attend weight-loss programmes, which focus on changes in dietary and physical activity habits. Use of self-monitoring is advocated when changing dietary and physical activity habits for adults with obesity. The hepatitis B virus (HBV) is a major causative agent of chronic liver disease and subsequent liver cirrhosis worldwide. The reduced sensitivity of virus-infected liver cells to apoptosis may play a role in the failure to remove virus-infected cells and eventually promote viral chronicity. The purpose of our study was to investigate whether survival factors induced during compensatory liver regeneration may protect hepatocytes against apoptosis. This contribution deals with the consequences of floods, which affected the capital of CR, Prague, in august 2002. The members of working group have seen the situation one year after the event. The article is divided into three parts, each dealing with specific area of problems. First part concerns the measures that should be taken before the flood event occurs, including long-term flood protection strategy. In the second part we discuss the succession of steps to be performed in order to minimize the endangerment of public and the damages during the flood period. We used the three latest rounds of the religion module of International Social Survey Programme to study secularization in Denmark, Norway, and Sweden, focusing on belief in God. We restricted our sample to the affiliated with the majority Protestant churches and the unaffiliated and analyzed the trends toward disaffiliation and disbelief in God. Then, we studied the association between confidence in churches, religious/secular upbringing, and demographic controls with belief in God using multinomial logistic regression models. Abstract The steady-state activity of NO reduction by C3H6, in lean conditions, was studied on a Pt(1%)/Ce0.6Zr0.4O2 catalyst, in a plug-flow reactor, in the temperature range 100–500 °C. The influence of reductive pre-treatments on the catalytic performance at low temperature (250 °C) was investigated. Enhancement of the activity was found for the catalyst pre-treated in hydrogen at 350 °C as compared to the sample pre-treated in H2 at 800 and 1050 °C. Moreover, transient reactivity tests of NO reduction by hydrogen were also carried out. As previously observed, the sample reduced at 350 °C was the most active catalyst.
