Imaginary time propagation code for large-scale two-dimensional eigenvalue problems in magnetic fields

We present a code for solving the single-particle, time-independent Schr\"odinger equation in two dimensions. Our program utilizes the imaginary time propagation (ITP) algorithm, and it includes the most recent developments in the ITP method: the arbitrary order operator factorization and the exact inclusion of a (possibly very strong) magnetic field. Our program is able to solve thousands of eigenstates of a two-dimensional quantum system in reasonable time with commonly available hardware. A neural based multi-agent system for automatic HTML pages retrieval is presented. The system is based on the EαNet architecture, a neural network having good generalization capabilities and able to learn the activation function of its hidden units. The starting hypothesis is that the HTML pages are stored in networked repositories. Hybrid Magnetic Multilayers by Intercalation of Cu(II) Phthalocyanine in LDH Hosts

The intrinsic flexibility of layered double hydroxides (LDHs) has been here exploited to design hybrid multilayered materials by intercalation of the copper phthalocyaninetetrasulfonate (CuPcTs) complex in the interlamellar space offered by these layered hosts through a simple anion-exchange procedure. Taking advantage of their chemical versatility, two different LDHs, the diamagnetic ZnAl and the ferromagnetic NiAl, have been synthesized and characterized to explore the differences in the magnetic properties of the hybrids introduced by the intercalation of the paramagnetic complex.
Transmission electron microscopy investigation of oxidation of (110)NiAl single crystal with wedge-shaped profile

Abstract Low energy electron diffraction (LEED), high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX), and electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS) investigations of oxidation processes in (110)NiAl single crystal of wedge like shape, i.e., on the sample’s areas of different thickness, were carried out. It was found that in the result of several cycles of ion etching, annealing and oxidation the upper layer of (110)NiAl is enriched with Ni. With the increase of Ni concentration from 50 to 100 at. %, the stoichiometry of the near surface area changes and the new phases of Ni3Al and Ni with Al doping are formed one after another.
