Developing MLS Location-Based Service Pilot System

Development of mobile networks and terminals provides basis for advanced mobile services and applications. One of the new features is support for locating the mobile user by her/his terminal. The Location-Based Services (LBS), utilising this feature, are expected to form an important class of the new services. At the Information Technology Research Institute, University of Jyvaskyla, LBSs have been studied in MultiMeetMobile research project. The project developed an LBS pilot system, called MLS. This paper presents the experiences collected during the development of the LBS pilot and describes the MLS system.

The contract dated 1511 signed by Fernando Llanos and Fernando Yáñez de la Almedina, Castillian painters known as “the Hernandos,” for the termination of an altarpiece in the chapel of the “Virgen de les Febres” is presented here. This chapel was founded in 1497 in the collegiate church of Jàtiva (Valencia) by Francisco de Borja, Bishop of Teano and Cardinal of Cosenza. Genomic imprinting is a form of epigenetic regulation that results in the expression of either the maternally or paternally inherited allele of a subset of genes (Ramowitz and Bartolomei 2011). This imprinted expression of transcripts is crucial for normal mammalian development. Usability of Programming Languages

Programming languages form the interface between programmers (the users) and the computation that they desire the computer to execute. Although studies exist for some aspects of programming language design (such as conditionals), other aspects have received little or no human factors evaluations. Designers thus have little they can rely on if they want to make new languages highly usable, and users cannot easily chose a language based on usability criteria. This SIG will bring together researchers and practitioners interested in increasing the depth and breadth of studies on the usability of programming languages, and ultimately in improving the usability of future languages. nonPeerReviewed

SummaryPolycomb group (PcG) proteins are conserved epigenetic transcriptional repressors that control numerous developmental gene expression programs and have recently been implicated in modulating embryonic stem cell (ESC) fate. We identified the PcG protein PCL2 (polycomb-like 2) in a genome-wide screen for regulators of self-renewal and pluripotency and predicted that it would play an important role in mouse ESC-fate determination. Using multiple biochemical strategies, we provide evidence that PCL2 is a Polycomb Repressive Complex 2 (PRC2)-associated protein in mouse ESCs. Gata4 Blocks Somatic Cell Reprogramming By Directly Repressing Nanog

Abstract Somatic cells can be reprogrammed to induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells by ectopic expression of the four factors Oct4, Klf4, Sox2, and Myc. Here, we investigated the role of Gata4 in the reprogramming process and present evidence for a negative role of this family of transcription factors in the induction of pluripotency. Coexpression of Gata4 with Oct4, Klf4, and Sox2 with or without Myc in mouse embryonic fibroblasts greatly impaired reprogramming and endogenous Nanog expression. The lack of Nanog upregulation was associated with a blockade in the transition from the initiation phase of reprogramming to the full pluripotent state characteristic of iPS cells. Reprogrammed induced pluripotent stem cells: how suitable could they be in reproductive medicine?

Human embryonic stem cells have the greatest potential for regenerative and reproductive medicine; unfortunately, their full application is limited by ethical and technical problems. In order to overcome these problems and get patient specific pluripotent cells from somatic cells, the field of reprogramming has moved to the generation of induced pluripotent stem cells by overexpression of four transcription factors after viral infection of the patient's somatic cells. In the present paper we review the limitations and milestones of this technique in both regenerative and reproductive medicine.

We explore questions related to the aggregation operators and aggregation of fuzzy sets. No preliminary knowledge of the aggregation operators theory and of the fuzzy sets theory are required, because all necessary information is given in Section 2. Later we introduce a new class of γ‐aggregation operators, which “ignore” arguments less than γ. Due to this property γ‐aggregation operators simplify the aggregation process and extend the area of possible applications.
