Maģistra darba tēma “KOMUNIKĀCIJAS LOMA UN NOVĒRTĒJUMS LATVIJAS SOCIĀLĀS ATBILDĪBAS PROJEKTĀ „DR. KLAUNS””. The purpose is to draw attention to the problems, to help to develop the procedures followed when translating the tests, and to provide suggestions for further research. Many investigators have attempted to define the threshold of landslide failure, that is, the level of the selected climatic variable above which a rainfall-induced landslide occurs. Intensity–duration (I–d) relationships are the most common type of empirical thresholds proposed in the literature for predicting landslide occurrence induced by rainfall. Recent studies propose the use of the kinetic power per unit volume of rainfall (J m−2 mm−1) to quantify the threshold of landslides induced by rainfall. The aim of the article is to compare the preliminary results of the research on the data gathered in the VILLA project with the reflections of the teacher conducting all the sessions (ten courses in Polish for beginners). The article consists of four parts. The first one presents the basic information about the project. Mathematical modelling and activation – a study on a large class, a project-based task and students' flow

International audience; We studied how engineering students in a large class (n=346) can be activated by a project-based task, in which they have to model mathematically the motion of an object. The students had to throw an object, use (1) their smart phones for filming, and (2) tracker software for capturing the motion. Through a poster, they had to report their video analysis. We framed activation through the concept of flow, which is a state of being fully absorbed by an activity. We administered a web-based questionnaire (response rate 69%).
