Oxidative stress in preterm infants: Overview of current evidence and future prospects

Preterm birth (PTB), defined as parturition prior to 37 weeks of gestation, is the leading cause of morbidity and mortality in the neonatal population. The incidence and severity of complications of prematurity increase with decreasing gestational age and birthweight. The aim of this review study is to select the most current evidence on the role of oxidative stress in the onset of preterm complication prevention strategies and treatment options with pre-clinical and clinical trials. Upper limits on the isotropic gravitational-wave background from Advanced LIGO and Advanced Virgo's third observing run

We report results of a search for an isotropic gravitational-wave background (GWB) using data from Advanced LIGO's and Advanced Virgo's third observing run (O3) combined with upper limits from the earlier O1 and O2 runs. Unlike in previous observing runs in the advanced detector era, we include Virgo in the search for the GWB. The results are consistent with uncorrelated noise, and therefore we place upper limits on the strength of the GWB. Il saggio descrive le prospettive di riforma della normativa penale ambientale, di recente delineatesi tanto a livello internazionale, quanto in ambito europeo. Pur non spingendosi sino a prevedere i possibili esiti delle dinamiche in corso, il contributo non rinuncia ad analizzarne luci ed ombre, anche alla luce delle difficoltà di tipizzazione delle fattispecie incriminatrici determinata dalla particolare complessità della materia ambientale.

Settore IUS/17 - Diritto PenaleThe essay describes the prospects of reform of environmental criminal law recently outlined both at international and European level. Although the contribution does not go so far as to predict the possible outcomes of the dynamics in progress it does not shy away from analysing the lights and shadows also in the light of the difficulties of typifying criminal offences determined by the particular complexity of environmental matters.
